It might be an improvement for her character of Dr. Lam got infected with a Goa'uld. That would certainly add more drama into General Landry's life.

Although I think the chances of that happening are pretty slim as the Goa'uld seem to be a dying race once more.

Glad we clarified that. :p Sha're never really showed much personality, nor did the Goa'uld inside her. The character was far better in the movie, plus I like her name in the movie better. I always thought Sha're sounded lame.
