There is now a integrated chat so feel free to use.

There is also the ability to create your own personal Stargate Page ( found under User CP in the upper right). I have a image hosting(VB Image Host) and file hosting(downloads)You can use to host files and images for the creating of your page. YOu must be a member of the sgc friends to create your page at this time. Depending how things go this may change in the future.

Registered members can view the Users Pages though.

Want to be a member of sgc friends? Col Carter is in charge of the requirements for that and she will post those soon.

So check out the new features and let us know if you like.

I have also added a front page, with some general information on it.

If you wish to bypass the first page simply click the forum link in the upper left, or just go directly to http://www.stargateforum.net/forum

You can get back to the start page by clicking on stargateforum.net link at the bottom of the page.

let me know what you think of this front page in general, and any changes you would like on it.

Wow, I'm really liking the new format. Looks almost like my homepage (except different colors).

Nice job!

OK,

I have the last of updates up and running.

I placed a much better photo gallery so please feel free to use.

I also have a links manager up and running so again please feel free to use it.

You can get to the gallery and links manger thru the front page, I will also add links to them in the nav bar at the top a bit later.

This is where I wanted to be before the start of the next season, so I'm happy with that.

Again any suggestions or comments please let me or carter know.

OK,

I finished the program that will fix the missing usernames in the old posts. I will run it tomorrow, and hopefully fix the problem.

Colonel Carter
07-19-2006, 02:47 AM
What problem?

cb49747
07-19-2006, 09:35 AM
If you look at the old posts from the ezboard, there is no username tied to them, I'm going to fix that.

Colonel Carter

Gotcha! :w1

I got some more done, so it is a bit better.

I still have about 4,000 posts to go, however that sounds worse than it is. those 4,000 posts are in 4 different forums and since you do it by forum, I should say I only have four left.

Colonel Carter
07-24-2006, 05:22 PM
You now have the choice to choose a theme for the board that resembles the SG-1 section of my web site if you like. In your theme chooser, it will say Abydos.

I want to appologize for the error.

There was an update that needed to be put on, and it did not go as smooth as planned. It is working now, so feel free to post.

Right now we have clouds for the background in the Atlantis theme. Do you like the clouds or would you like a water background better? See my Atlantis site (http://www.sg1stargate.com/atlantis/) for what the water backgrounds would look like.

Here are some possibilities:

for sure not the bubbles. No like the bubbles. Bubbles bad.

The other two are ok maybe we can put them up for a day or so take a vote and then do the same with the others.

Colonel Carter
08-06-2006, 03:22 PM
Bubbles good. Pretty bubbles. :)

Dracus
08-06-2006, 10:48 PM
...I still dont like any of them.

<,< You know what, Im gonna go get a good shot of atlantis from the intro... Since it looks very nice, resize it, post it, and see what you guys think.

Give me two days tops to download and Screeshot it :p

Colonel Carter
08-06-2006, 10:52 PM
The biggest issue will be to make sure it's not too big a file so that those of us with dial-up's aren't sitting here forever waiting for the background to load. :)

Dracus
08-06-2006, 10:59 PM
mm, since I have Comcast I couldnt tell XD But I could upload it as Jpeg, it might help <,<

Ill try to resize it to be as exact on the screen as I can... You can always resize it if you dont like :p

Heck, I might make some banners too...

Ive been procrastinating tdoing any imaging latley... I could make a new sig from the Pegasus project even...

I don't think it was working before. But if you go to the main forum page, scroll to the bottom and there will be a section to tell you if anyone is having a birthday on that day. Go check it out today!

Colonel Carter
08-18-2006, 12:11 PM
Like with the Birthday's, if there are any new events on the calendar, they will be found listed at the bottom of the main forum page. For example, today it is showing that there are new episodes for Stargate coming up.

To let you know, we plan on having the new episodes listed on the calendar so that you can see when new episodes are on. :8:

Awesome

If you have 125 posts, you automatically have access to the new avatars. If you go to change your avatar, it's the first category. There are 50 in all, all have writing on them of some sort. Just SG-1 for now, I intend to make some new Atlantis avatars soon. I've temporarily changed my avatar to one of them as an example.

Colonel Carter
09-04-2006, 01:08 AM
Like with the SG-1 avatars, there are now new Atlantis avatars in the second category if you have 125 posts or more. So far there are only 20 avatars.

Colonel Carter
09-05-2006, 12:55 AM
It's now up to 40 avatars.

Dracus
09-05-2006, 03:27 PM
Hm...

The writing on them is a good idea and all, but half of them I would take in a heartbeat... without the writing.

Colonel Carter
09-05-2006, 09:11 PM
Which half? I don't mind adding some without the writing, but I think 100 would be a tad overboard. Which ones do you think would be better without writing? Or I might replace some with just the image and no text.

Dracus

<,< Im not particulary listing all the good lookign ones... But the one with teil'c spraying the P-90s I think, it caught my attention XD

<,< Im not particulary listing all the good lookign ones... But the one with teil'c spraying the P-90s I think, it caught my attention XD
Spraying? And what are P-90's?

Dracus
09-06-2006, 09:25 PM
What ar-
What are P-90!?!?!?

*Explodes*
How CANT you know them. Its the gun the SG-1 team ALWAYS uses- the small, boxy shaped gun.

http://www.stargateforum.net/forum/images/avatars/sg1avatar17.jpg
That images, btw

Its only the coolest gun EVAR! XD

cb49747
09-06-2006, 09:57 PM
Carter did you just say what are P-90's?

Are you ok

Are you sick:eek:

ok just kidding they are the guns that they use.

Colonel Carter
09-06-2006, 11:51 PM
You're talking to someone who played with dolls as a kid. Guns have NEVER been my thing. I don't even like guns on tv or in movies. Nothing romantic about them. A more cowardly way to kill someone, I think. Now, I like a good sword fight. Of course I don't like people dying, so go fig. I can handle scenes where someone dies if it's not too graphic or realistic. SG-1 fits that category.

Dracus
09-07-2006, 03:22 PM
Mm, But SG-1 doesent have that everyone might die at anytime thing to it... That would be interesting.

<,< say I were making a show. I would purposefully build up a character as a big... (forget the name..) Character that everyone loves, whatever its called, and then kill them in a way that any usual person would die... A gunshot, Heart Attack, Fell down a flight of stairs even :p

Colonel Carter
09-07-2006, 08:16 PM
Aside from not liking to see people die, I hate when character, especially leads, get killed off. Aside from that, I wouldn't want all the hate mail you'd receive for doing that.

Dracus
09-08-2006, 03:52 PM
Indeed, but by having an invicnible character, the show gets predictable.

Knowing that none of the SG-1 team will die, ever, take away any sense of suspence. On the last episode of season 9, none of them died. There wasnt much suspsense for me there, since I knew they wouldnt.

Death is a part of life. But usualy, it is not a part of a fictional show as much. You can see soldiers die in a battlefield in any show, but their just... expendable characters to you now. By highlighting the fact they had a life, interests, relationships, and a free will, and then by killing the character... Suddenly, the average soldier dieing on the battlefield isnt so usual.

OK,

I finnaly got all the old ezboard posts imported with the proper user names. What that means if you go into the old posts in stead of seing ezboard import for the user name you will see the user name of the poster. If the name is small that is because they never moved over here and registered.

I plan to wright a query in the next couple of days to reset the thread starter to the proper user name. On the old threads those still say ezboard import.

After doing this a few people got a small boost in the post count, it is because this board is now reconizing your old posts.

I also plan to do some work on the chat room, to assure that it works for everyone.

I also plan on working some more on the buttons and icons for the various themes.

Colonel Carter
09-09-2006, 02:51 AM
Funny, I still see a lot of ezboard imports.

cb49747
09-09-2006, 09:45 AM
I don't have the original posts from the mess hall so those I can't convert over. So everything but the mess hall should be fixed.

Not sure what people want to do with the rest of those mess hall posts. I can delete them, or I can just leave them as ezboard imports

Any ideas?

Colonel Carter
09-09-2006, 11:59 AM
Why wouldn't you have the original posts from the Mess Hall? I don't quite understand.

cb49747
09-09-2006, 12:37 PM
Well,

When we originaly moved the posts over here the usernames did not come with. The import file was then deleted. When I went back to recreate the import file to get the usernames the posts in the mess hall forum had been deleted. So I was unable to get those posts.

As it stands right now there are 275 posts in 42 threads in 1 forum (The Mess Hall) that are tied to ezboard import. I might be able to fix a couple of these by memory, however the rest I don't know.

If anyone has some ideas as who had what posts. Please pm me the thread and post id who it should be credited to and I can manualy make the change.

Colonel Carter

Okay, I understand now.

Has anyone ever noticed how hard it is to open a package after you've put lotion on your hands?

09-09-2006, 06:18 PM
OK,

I have the chat room rebuilt and seems to be working fine. Please test it out. and let me know.

I will leave Dracus in charge of setting up a weekly chat time to discuss Stargate shows.

Dracus, last time we did this it seemed Saturday evenings worked best

I have three rooms now opened to all registered users. and two blocked just for testing reasons.

Anissa T
09-10-2006, 01:48 AM
Looks good. I saw Mess Hall, Science Lab and Briefing Room. Is it suppose to be like that?

If so, it's working great.

Anissa T

Try opening a door........

Dracus
09-10-2006, 02:54 PM
Nice...

Saturday you say. It sounds good, but wouldnt right after the show be better?

<,< ill make a poll on it later... Could take a few episodes before it gets set up correctly XD

cb49747
09-10-2006, 06:38 PM
Sounds good.

Anissa T
09-10-2006, 07:33 PM
The reason we weren't doing it right after the show was because of time zone issues. Because SG1 is now at 9pm, people on the west coast wouldn't even see it until midnight on the east coast.

Atlantis of course would be even later.

So, that's why we had decided to do it on Saturday instead.

cb49747
09-18-2006, 06:14 PM
I have added two new buttons for the atlantis theme. The new thread and post reply. I will work on changing the other buttons in the next couple of days.

09-22-2006, 09:30 PM
Ok,

I placed some adds on the site. I would like any feed back on what people think of these adds. Such as, are they annoying, not relavant, kind of nice, usefull, etc.

Anissa T
09-23-2006, 10:01 AM
I have never used an ad on any board I've been on. However, they don't bother me much. Half the time I don't even notice them unless it opens a large window over the site.

Dracus
09-23-2006, 01:29 PM
>.> If their for cutting down costs, then their fine. We got used to them at EZBoard XD Otherwise, they will be a bit annoying. For a bit, then we will just get used to them.

Colonel Carter
09-23-2006, 04:11 PM
I don't like them being located beneath the first post in every thread. Other than that they are okay.

cb49747
09-23-2006, 04:44 PM
Thank you all for your input. I appreciate your honesty about the adds.

Colonel Carter
11-15-2006, 05:42 PM
I've changed the banners in the Atlantis theme, just trying something new. Let me know what you think of them. Currently there are 20 rotating banner images.

Colonel Carter
11-16-2006, 01:51 AM
If ya'll don't like them, I can always put the old ones back. It's no biggie. :)

Anissa T
11-16-2006, 01:53 AM
Who is Tela feeding?
What the heck is Carson holding? Looks like a morphed pinapple.
Love the one of Weir and O'neill.

There is one missing it's picture.

I've clearly missed a few episodes.

Colonel Carter
11-16-2006, 02:05 AM
Okay, I edited my second post to post all the images. They're all showing up. I had that problem earlier too with one of them. I'll go double check the script to make sure it's right since all the images show up fine.

Teyla is feeding Michael - the Wraith they turned into a human near the end of season 2.

I think Carson is holding a candle. It was in the third season episode "Irresistable" where they met a guy who had some kind of perfume or something that breathed in by others made them totally love him. Only Sheppard was unaffected because he had a really bad cold.

Colonel Carter
11-16-2006, 02:20 AM
I found one mistake in the script and took care of that. Let me know if you see the problem again and I'll look through the script again.

Colonel Carter
11-17-2006, 01:35 AM
Okay, I'm done with images for the Atlantis banner, there are 45 in all. I was going to do only 40 but anyway.

Anissa T
11-17-2006, 02:19 AM
Really glad you put a few of Ford. FYI, I wonder who is standing behind him in the red beret. Only asking because Ford has a black cap on and not to my knowledge does the Air Force have people who wear red berets. I've only seen Army personnel. I know Ford was a Marine, but I'm not sure what their airborne personnel wear. In the Army, the red beret is for airborne personnel.

I'm just curious.

Colonel Carter
11-17-2006, 03:10 AM
It was in the season 1 finale or season 2 premiere, one of the men that were sent through the Stargate from earth in the season 1 finale. I thought they were marines, I might be mistaken.

I have the fewest pictures of Ford from the main cast in the banners. I was keeping track to try and keep the number of images for each person close, but I have fewer of Ford and Ronon since they were in less seasons than the others and just picking photos I liked.

Total for each character:

Sheppard, Teyla, and McKay - each are in 12
Weir and Beckett - each are in 11
Ronon - 8
Ford - 3

I might try adding some more of Ford in the future.

Anissa T
11-17-2006, 10:35 AM
I thought they were all either Air Force or Marine Corps as well. Maybe that's one of those oops that got through.

Colonel Carter
12-10-2006, 03:22 PM
We now have a Christmas theme for the board.

Ho, ho, ho!

Anissa T
12-10-2006, 07:08 PM
I actually like the colors.

Colonel Carter
12-10-2006, 07:22 PM
I do too, though I'd like it more red than pink, it's harder to read if I go darker.

Colonel Carter
12-11-2006, 03:19 PM
I just did a whole lot of merging threads in this forum. A lot of threads which were all about board updates got moved into this one thread.

Colonel Carter
12-12-2006, 12:25 AM
I tweaked the colors in the Christmas theme. I think it's a little more Christmasy now.

Colonel Carter
01-19-2007, 12:44 AM
There is a new forum under a new category on the board. It is reserved for discussions about the third Stargate series currently in the works. Once we know the name of the new series, we will update the forum and category titles.

Colonel Carter
02-20-2007, 02:00 AM
There are now rotating quotes under the banners for the SG-1 and Atlantis themes. The quotes are specific for that particular show. I'll be uploading more quotes in the future, SG-1 first since it only has 10 compared to Atlantis's 45.

Colonel Carter
02-21-2007, 01:08 AM
I've been working on them pretty much non-stop since I got home from work. I did break for dinner and to take the pooch out to do her business. They're now all up. The whole design is a little different. Most of the rotating images are the same but some got dropped and some new ones added and there are now five more images rotating than before. If you've been using the Atlantis theme, you may need to refresh your browser.

Enjoy. :)

Anissa T
02-21-2007, 02:03 AM
They look great. I like the one of Ford and all the quotes.

Please, please tell me you have "That's O'neill with two L's".

Colonel Carter
02-25-2007, 12:40 PM
Not yet. Currently I only have 11 quotes, I'm planning on adding more. If you can think of any others you would like to add, just let me know. :)

This is just turning out to be a bad day-Jack (Serpents Lair)

Will you please stop calling me 'human-Jack (Serpents Lair)

Alright, so it's possible there's an alternate version of my self out there that actually understands what the hell you're talking about-Jack (to Sam in Point of View)

Deadman Switch

Daniel: "And how do we know we can trust you?"
Arris: "My word is good on over 2,000 planets."
O'Neill: "There are billions."

Demons
O'Neill: "No, no, no, no, no. We killed him, he's dead."
Teal'c: "We only killed one Unas."
O'Neill: "I thought there only was one! Unas, uno, one?"

Colonel Carter
02-26-2007, 12:24 AM
I've been working on them pretty much non-stop since I early afternoon or late morning. I have taken a few breaks, some unvoluntarily when my computer just shut down automatically on me. They're now all up. A whole new design featuring only SG-1, previously the banners rotating in the SG-1 theme reflected both shows. There are almost twice as many rotating images for the SG-1 theme than for the Atlantis theme with plans on making more in the future. If you've been using the SG-1 theme, you may need to refresh your browser.

Enjoy. :)
