What are the green shapes for?

It's a display in regards to your reputation points. You should see in the upper right hand corner of each person's post a set of scales. If you click on those scales, you can give the person either a positive or a negative reputation point based on their post. And you can leave a comment there as well.
I suggest giving out positive rep points because giving out negative rep points can make the recipient grumpy towards you. But I've not disabled the ability to give negative rep. points. I would only do that if it seemed to become a problem.

Another nice thing about this board. Next to our usernames there's a little dot. If the dot is green, it means that person is on the board. If it's not green, it means they're not here.

Forgot to mention this. To see how many points you have and read comments others have made in your reputation, click on the User CP in the upper left portion of the board. Your comments should be on that first page.

I like my avatar - I was a cat lover before I could walk.

I probably would have been if we had a cat. I didn't get my first cat though until I was in elementary school. As a matter of fact, my cat is butting her head against my foot right this moment. She hasn't had tuna in a few weeks and she tries to talk me into giving her some every night.

My mom had a cat for about four years before I was born - ironically enough, the cat's name was Sam - so I grew up playing with her.

It wasn't bad, but I just had to have one of those savvy SG1 avatars for now.

Anyone looking at our post counts at the moment would be convinced that we had no lives.
I'm at over 150 posts a day.

I'm assuming your are refering to your posts compared to your join date?
Thought about that, then said would anybody ever look at that.
Guess so. Good attention to detail to you.

It's averaging you at over 150 posts a day because it's taking the number of posts you have on this board (the vast majority of which were transferred) compared to the number of days you've been a member here, which is only a few now. I suspect that number will decrease as time goes on, unless you really do make 150 posts a day which would be awe-inspiring. Although easy to do if the game threads so long as you've got other people who are actively participating.
Although posts in the Avatar thread to not count toward your total number of posts here. That forum and the Fan Fiction forum and maybe some others, I can't really remember now, have post count turned off. Since this board is run on a system that you will earn privelages when you reach a certain number of posts, we base it also off of post content. Avatar forum is a great way to boost post count without us really getting to know a person like you do in a discussion thread. :)
On many boards, people feel it's an achievement to have a high post count.

Could you imagine if someone was really posting that much. I've had my busy posting days, but that's wild.
:p

I can imagine that happening if the board had a whole bunch of active members. Although it would take a good chunk of time I'd think.

Well maybe someday we will get there.
Only 3 more days to go.
I added the show to the calendar so no one will forget.

I'm sure that one day you will get that amount of posts per day. I found you didn't I? It'll be fine
