********************************************

I really don't understand this bad guy. His personality seems to have drastically changed since the last time we saw him. I don't get him.

The episode might have been pretty good if they had gotten to keep the thing, zpm or whatever it's called. But the fact their friend took it from them at the end - I was like, what's the point? So are they going to get it back in "The Gift?"

Looks like the Brotherhood has become a Sisterhood. And why didn't they tell her that the Ancients in the past sent them a message of where to find the zpm's? They didn't even try to bring up that little fact proving that the Ancients wanted them to have it. And they think the Ancients will one day return? Boy are they in for a shock considering that the Ancients could care less about them. You know, the Anicents really seem to be more and more like the Goa'ulds every time I hear about them. They were worshiped by these people, and that's not the first time we've heard that the Ancients were worshiped by people. They had a serious ego problem before they ever ascended. Rather uncaring bunch of people who don't seem to care about anyone or anything but themselves. Perhaps that is the defining difference between them and the humans today.

All I can say is that next week looks much cooler. We're going to get to see SG-1 kids on Atlantis! :)

I didn't really understand how it all played out as well. I mean, I get it, but would have went down another road with that storyline.

And now, the wraith know where they are. Guess, that's why they are going to have to pull SG-1 into it.

Can't wait!

Will SG-1 get pulled into it? I haven't seen any talk of that and can't imagine that happening. Next week is about the SGC receiving messages from the Atlantis team though it seems all they can do is send messages, there's no other way to go through the gate. Though I'm kind of curious as to how they're even going to do that because I would think they would have to establish a wormhole to do that and if they could establish a wormhole, couldn't they go through? Unless they're afraid of never being able to go back. So we'll see Sam next week receiving those messages. Thus explaining why in the preview she said something about getting messages from Pegasus.

Now (spoiler alert) the season finale shows soldiers coming through the gate from earth to Atlantis. So I guess the people back home found a new power source. From what I've read is that they are sent to Pegasus and there's a big change in structure. I think because earth determined there needs to be a stronger military force because of the wraith which they learned about through the messages sent home. I'm curious though if this change is going to be a permanent thing and if it is, what will Dr. Weir's role be if she's no longer in charge of SGA?

i think the team should be more aggressive finding the zpm. They always seem to be screwed over by people when they're nice to them they should think about trusting people.

I think they're optimistic about forming friendships. Though if you think about it, any friendship SG-1 ever formed seemed to be rather shaky. People are bound to feel intimidated by them because they're more powerful in forms of technology.

But that seems to be the nature of life - alliances only last for so long before the lesser power either feels too threatened or the greater power decides they want to take over. The only true way to get peace is for the alliance to merge and for both to become one people under one leader. Which doesn't seem to happen that much anymore. Manifest Destiny has long been buried, at least in Western Civilization. I think some Middle Eastern countries might believe in the idea.

But really, that is the only way to end war, except for perhaps civil war. For people to unite as one under one leader. I'm actually surprised in our world today, people don't try to actually accomplish this. Probably people's pride stands in the way. People want power and they want to be in control and if they're leading a country, they're not likely going to just give that control away to some other country.

There is definitely a correlation between this on the show and our world today. It could be interesting if they could find a way to promote the idea of uniting under one banner and leader.

I think SGA has the same mentality as SG1 though. Gaining new technology is important, but not at the expense of stealing it from people who could become allies. The people in this episode at least had a noble purpose for keeping the zpm. Even though it was a bit superstitious, still. It would give SGA a bad rep if they bullied people to get what they wanted.

I agree but so far the way they have been dealing with things has gotten them nowhere. They should change their strategy a bit Iam surprised sg1 hasn't learned from this yet all Iam saying is that they should take precautions before trusting anyone it might be a little ignorant but i think it would be good for them in the long run. There just to good hearted I guess that is a weakness.

I dunno.. I was more than a little ticked they didn't come away with the ZPM, but I'm not sure force would be the best answer... I mean, your new to a galaxy, and you go being a bully? that's not always gonna go over really well... I dunno... i'm sorta the diplomate, so... I dunno... But, all in all, it wasn't a bad ep! Although, the Genii are starting to get on my last possible nerve...

Speaking of Genii.

I have a question. Thanks to a houseful on Friday nights, I missed the begining of the episode. Did it say what planet they were on and how (was it coincidense) the Genii just happen to be there?

I don't recall the name of the planet. The Genii were there searching for the treasure they had heard held great power. Basically they were looking for the zpm like SG-1, although they don't call it a zpm. They said many others before had gone looking for it and had never found it. They were hoping they'd find it.

So, the reason they attacked SGA and all was not so much because of the past but because they were after the same thing. I believe they waited and watched SGA for a little bit to let them try and find it and then they moved in.
