It was okay. This is the first time we've seen ponytail guy since that episode where he got in Weir's face about making him look bad in front of his colleagues isn't it? I loved Ford leaving the room to let the guy do his whining in private.
Okay, I get that Teyla was really attached to these people, felt they were like family to her, thus why she was so adament about saving them. But I do think she was just a little too harsh in her criticism of Shep. I think it's interesting because at the end when Shep did his segment for the video where he addressed the Colonel's family, he made mention that he has no family back on earth. I'm curious if he grew up with a family or if he, like Daniel, lost his when he was a kid. This would help understand more that he is incapable of understanding Teyla's connection to those people.
Family did seem to be an underlining theme in this episode. Teyla was adament about saving people she loved like family. Rodney said that the people at Atlantis had become like a surrogant family. I don't know if anyone else mentioned it, but it seemed to be a fairly strong theme in the episode. I get the impression that Shep does not feel this way about the people at Atlantis and I'm guessing that comes from his lack of having a family of his own. I'm really rooting for Shep that he will come to feel like he has a family. Actually, I hope the cast of Atlantis form that kind of a family bond like SG-1 has done. After all, Rodney is finally softening up and starting to grasp the concept of family and embracing his team as such. I think Teyla would be more than happy to think of these people like family because she is such a warm and loving person, but they've not yet made their way into her heart as such. Shep and Weir really need to loosen up. I sense the most amount of tension from the two of them, moreso when they're with each other. They are two very intense personalities I feel. But then given that they are the two top ranking people there and the amount of stress they're under, that's understandable. But Shep needs to open his heart more and I'm not sure yet what Weir needs to do to soften up.
I LOVE BECKETT! He's like the sweetest guy! I seriously don't get why he has such trouble getting a girlfriend. I'd go out with him in a heartbeat. He's good looking, has a heart of gold, and is just all around sweet. Not to mention he has the cutest accent in Atlantis! I loved his segments filming for his mom. I loved how he got all teary when he first said how much he loved her.
I would go out with Beckett over Sheppard any day. Yeah Shep is cute, but he's, well, not really my type. :D
I liked Rodney's comments to his sister. That was sweet. I am so loving see this guy lighten up.
I was disappointed in Weir's comments to Simon. Seriously, I'm totally hoping for Simon coming through the Stargate and living in Atlantis once a wormhole can be re-established with Earth. I think she needs a guy and I just can't imagine her with anyone there at Atlantis, especially none of the main cast.
Hmm... what if she started a relationship with ponytail boy? :thbt
I was disappointed in one thing and that's that we weren't able to see SG-1's reaction to the news of the Wraith. I hope we actually get to see some of that before they just send people to Atlantis.
