My computer messed up so I didn't start a thread on this last night. But please don't think you have to wait for me to start a thread on an episode. :)

I really liked this episode, like last week's. Well, except for the "To Be Continued" ending that made me feel compelled to throw things at the tv (which I didn't). I thought Atlantis had a much better season finale than SG-1. Good enough to make me wonder how they're going to get out of this. Although I was wondering that after "The Storm" episode. After all, Ford and some others were completely surrounded by the Wraith, Shep was about to commit a suicide mission (from what I could tell), the new Colonel had just been attacked by a Wraith (I have a feeling he's about to understand that Shep did the right thing to shoot the Colonel before), and Weir and some others had just set the self-destruct.

And then they do this whole "To Be Continued" thing! HEY, IT WAS CONTINUED FROM LAST WEEK! YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO CONCLUDE IT THIS WEEK!!! Brats.

I really don't like that Colonel, but then I thought he had way too much of a smug, superior attitude when he came through that gate. I'll betcha that he'll end up dying and Shep will end up being promoted in rank to Colonel for his actions during this battle.

It also left us hanging about what happened to Teyla. If I remember correctly that is. LOL!

I liked it. I also agree their seasonal finale was better than SG1's. But, it needed to be to get people back for the 2nd season.

So, what now? We have to wait until July to find out what happens to Shep, the COL, Lt. Ford, Teyla and you just know they will turn of the auto destruct at like 3 seconds left. So, I'm not really worried about that.

I was totally suprised the Genii let them take the nukes. Frankly, I'm suprised they released Dr. Weir regardless of whether they let them use the nukes. I for sure they were going to use her for ransom or something.

Oh, and I was a little confused about why not one single person from SG1 came to great them with the other team. Would have alleviated a lot of the power struggle between Dr. Weir and the COL.

Oh and do you think Gen Hammond will be on the attack ship that is suppose to arrive in "a few days"? I noticed he took the helm (sp??) of Promethius a few times.

I couldn't remember where the episode left Teyla.

I was surprised that Weir decided to go visit the Genii in the first place. My thoughts were, "Are you crazy?" Although the chances were if she didn't succeed with the Genii, she would have died anyway, so why not take her chances? Wasn't Colm Meaney's character a Genii? You know, that's an interesting way to spell that name. I would have thought to spell it Jen'ai or something like that. With a J instead of a G and with a hyphen or dash.

If they were filming at the same time as SG-1, it would probably have been kind of hard to get the cast in to do the Atlantis as well. Not to mention it probably costs more to pay those actors. But also, from what I understood, the marines who came through the gate are at this point unable to return. Atlantis still doesn't have a power source to dial home. So if SG-1 came, they wouldn't be able to immediately return home, yet.

I also think about the nature of why the marines were sent. The invasion of a highly advanced, technologically superior, and evil enemy upon their people in the City of the Ancients, is not really the work of individual SG teams but of massive amounts of soldiers. SG-1 didn't come, but we don't see anyone from any SG team either. We just see a bunch of marines under the command of a Colonel.

It also seems to me that marines have more of a reputation for going into really bad situations and doing well. To coin the old phrase, "Send in the marines." I think it was a tactical decision for General O'Neill to send in troops rather than SG teams. I'm sure he thinks they stand a better chance at defeating this enemy.

What I find annoying is that we couldn't get to see SG-1's reaction to the messages sent through. For months now they've had no communication with Atlantis. But I'm sure that what has transpired there was the furthest thing from their minds. I wanted to see SG-1's reactions to news of what has been happening in Atlantis these past few months, the number of deaths to an enemy whose evilness far surpasses that of the Goa'uld.

The ship that is going to arrive in a few days? Is the Prometheus due to arrive in space around the planet? Yikes, I wouldn't think a tiny ship like that would stand a chance against two hive ships. I thought they were saying in four days something else was going to be sent through the Stargate to help them defeat the enemy.

I couldn't remember where the episode left Teyla.

Well, the I remember it showed almost everyone from her team had been killed, but they didn't show her.

Okay, that makes sense. However, if they had a ship on the way, they still could have gotten back.

Is the Prometheus due to arrive in space around the planet?

If I remember correctly, the COL didn't say Prometheus was ont he way, but another ship with a power source great enough to arrive in approx. 4 days.

Asgard, maybe? Wouldn't that be cool. ;)

BTW, I don't know if you realize it or not, but your signature always has a broken image box.

Yeah that would be cool!

The image box thing. Yeah, I know. It's one of the things I don't like about ezboard. I've took the image box out weeks ago and it's still showing up. I've tried to fix it two or three times and I'm not sure what the problem is.
