All I got to say about this was wow! Outstanding episode I loved it. What is happening to Ford? Is he turning into a wraith or a wraith hybred?
Can't wait untill next week.

Just a note on changing your titles, I'm just thinking ahead. If each week there's a thread about the new episode "new episode" we'll eventually have a bunch of new episode threads and it might be confusing to figure out which one is which. That's why I changed the titles to the name of the episodes. :)
It was good. I haven't seen the finale since it first aired so I had forgotten the details. But it was pretty good. I've actually read ahead on some of the episodes (I know, my bad, but I was working on the current season episode guide) so I know some of what will happen to Ford. I don't know if they'll kill him off or save him or what yet though. Very sad. I guess a majority of people didn't like his character last season and though he needed to be better developed. I say poo on them! I though Ford was an excellent character during the first half of the season, then due to all those crybabies they seemed to turn Ford into a jerk the second half. Poo on them! Double poo!
Ford was a great character right off the bat. Then they had to go and ruin him! I'd rather they have done that to Weir.
Dr. Weir hugging Shep seemed a little weird. She just doesn't strike me as the hugging type, not in a professional setting especially.
Teyla when she woke up after communicating to the Wraith. That whole thing confused me. I didn't think she had ever mastered that ability. Didn't the last time she did that a Wraith took her over? That whole thing just confuses me. And especially when she woke up how she had kind of an evil grin on her face.
It'll seem weird having a military presence in force now. I wonder how that will work out with Dr. Weir.
I have to comment about Rodney's clip falling out of his gun. Because my initial reaction to that was it looked so staged. Anything for a gag I guess.
Also, I wasn't too impressed with the CGI effect of Ford and the Wraith falling into the water.
The Asgard on the Dedalus, now that was priceless! A grumpy Asgard, too cute! I love those little gray guys! Why can't the Asgard send a fleet in to wipe the Wraith out?
Also, how is it the Wraith died so easily? I thought they had incredible regenerative capabilities. The Wraith kind of remind me of the Urak-Hai from Lord of the Rings, espeically the leader of them in Fellowship of the Ring. I believe Aragorn cut of one of the Uruk's arms and them stabbed him through the belly and he was still unshaken by it. It took Aragorn cutting off his head to kill him. I'm thinking that if I was fighting against the Wraith, I would cut off the head of any fallen Wraith just to make sure.
Overall it was pretty good.

I liked Ford as well. besides Rodney he was my favorite character. If they kill of his character I would be upset with that.
I also caught the same thing with teyla, I thought maybe it was a trick or somthing.
I also like the Asgurd.
As for the Wraith dying so easily, I think that goes along the same lines as the jaffa in Stargate SG1. When that first started all the jaffa had bullet proof armor and they were hard to kill, then by the last episode they were dropping like flies when it came to gun powder. However I do believe for at least the wraith it could be explained like this. All the wraith they have met so far were wraith who were awake all the time guarding the sleeping wraith hence they had been feeding and keeping there endurance up. While the wraith in Rising were wraith that had just woken up and have not fed enough boost up there endurance.
As for the titles yea I thought of that last night and thought I would go on today and change the titles. You beet me to it. Good looking out.

I was wondering the exact same thing about the wraith dying so easy. But, then again, I've been wondering what the difference between the regular wraith and the one's with masks. Or are they the same, but just wearing masks.
Anyhow, I thought it was a pretty good episode. I really like the job Rainbow did. It's too bad they are taking him to a lesser character. Although, if they build the character to "unknown", that is not knowing whether he is good or bad, they could bring him back into the series down the road. I can't wait to find out if he is a hybrid or what. Don't you find it interesting that his character is gone from Atlantis, but much more interesting now?
I think they are just making room for the new character. That's going to be interesting as well.
I'm still wondering what the deal with Teyla is as well. Not sure what is going on there. I'm afraid is she keeps doing it, the Wraith could be able to control her. Although, that in itself would be a good storyline as well. An unwilling spy in Atlantis.
I loved the fact that there was an Asgard on the Pegasus. I'm suspecting that since everyone was fighting the Replicators, the Asgard are probably still cleaning up the mess and that's why they couldn't help more.
Do you think the Asgard know about the Ancients? I can't remember if that was ever discussed in Stargate SG1. When Stargate SG1 explored the Asgard storyline, I originally thought the Asgard were the Ancients.
Speaking of the Pegasus, I loved the guest appearance by Mitch Peleggi (sp??). I loved him on X Files and a few other shows/movies.

In the episode The Fifth Race (season two I believe) the Asgard talk about 4 great races that had an aliance. The Asgard, Nox, Furlings, and The Ancients. He then went on to say that Humans were well on there way to becoming the fifth race.
So to answer your question, yes the Asgard knew of the Ancients. In fact both the Ancients and Asgard went in the same directions. They understood that the mind could live forever however the body had limitations. They Ancients answer was to Asend while the Asgard's answer was to keep making new bodies and transfer your concience. Allthough they do not talk about it, I feel the Nox and possibly the Furlings (they have never been met) felt this was against nature, thus the aliance was disolved with each race going its own way.
Just my two cents.

Thanks for the background. Been so long since I watched season 2.
Although, now that I think about it, didn't the Nox help out a few Ancients awhile back? I think it was the episode with Narim, but I cannot remember if they were ancients or not.
If so, they could be no their way back to a new friendship.

I've never seen the Nox help the Ancients. Narim's people are the Tollan.
What I wonder is if the Asgard know what happened to the Ancients. In "The Fifth Element," the Asgard told Jack that the Ancients moved on from their region of space long ago. So it sounds to me that when the Ancients returned to our galaxy with their tails tucked between their legs, they did not renew connections with any of their old allies. So it's possible that the Asgard do not know that the Ancients became ascended beings. It also makes me wonder, with the Asgard on the verge of extinction due to their poor cloning process, why they have not ascended. I'm also very curious as to what the Asgard looked like back during the time of their alliance with the Ancients as they've said they looked very much like humans.
Something else that I wonder about. We have met the Nox and the Asgard so we know that they are still around. Though the Ancients have moved on, do the Asgard and Nox still have an alliance with one another? I actually have a very hard time imagining the Nox in such an alliance as they are so opposed to fighting.
Actually, I have a theory on the Nox. ;) If you've ever seen "The Patriot," you would recall the tormented soul of the lead character played by Mel Gibson. He had become a very peaceful man who did not desire to fight or hurt anyone anymore, mostly because of the things he had done in his past. My theory is that the Nox probably shed enough blood in the past and felt so guilty about it that they turned totally around and chose the other extreme.
And I wonder if either the Asgard or the Nox are still in touch with the Furlings, if they still exist.

You know, now that I think about it, how is it that the Asgard are so advanced and intelligent, yet they can't figure out how to clone better?
Just wondering!

The producers/writers are probably trying to make a social political statement. That would be my guess.

I always thought that SG1 should meet the Furlings some day, maybe there like ewoks or wookies:cb
I also thought that the asgurd should get in touch with the guy that created the robot doubles of SG1. They may have been able to work something out.

Oh, now that's a thought. I totally forgot about that guy. Would make total sense.
But, that would be way too easy!

The Major title is because I made you a moderator in the game forum. Which is a quick jump up in the ranks. I feel I should make NewFanAllAround a moderator of a forum, but I don't know which she'd like to help moderate. :samhuh

No, no moderating here. I'm way too busy moderating on another board and with my kiddos.
But, thanks anyway!
