I really liked this episode. It was good to see Jack on a mission again. I just enjoyed the overall story. Nice seeing Maybourne again, he's good for comedy. Interesting to see a Puddle Jumper. I'm guessing this is the ship which is going to make time travel possible in the future two-part episode.

I didn't quite figure out if Jack's inability to fly the Puddle Jumper until the end was because of technical problems which Sam finally fixed or because he needed a stronger desire before making it work. The latter seems possible because it wasn't until they were in iminent danger that he was able to start it up and keep control. It didn't seem to work as smoothly for him as it did for Sheppard though which confused me.

One thing that I found annoying to think about was the presence of the time ship and the ruins. If the Ancient left his ship there and SG-1 took it back to earth, how would he have gotten back to his own time? Or even back into the past to record the events on the stone - which Daniel said would have only been about 200 years ago. I kept expecting to see some guy standing in the trees watching everything.

And also, he in fact altered history by leaving his time ship there. Is it possible that he witnessed the Goa'uld killing all these people after SG-1 returned to earth (since what really kept them there and brought Jack was the discovery of the ship). And so he chose to leave his ship there and then witnessed an alternat history in which SG-1 won? And then perhaps other Ancients arrived and took him back to their own time where he was charged with a crime of altering the time line. Though he was altering a future which hadn't happened for them yet.

Time-travel stories can get way too complicated to think about.

I was sitting watching the "Behind the gate" thing that was on, and I kept wondering wondering where SG-1 got a puddle jumper!! :)

It was a really good story, although, what did they do with thejumper? I mean, at the end, thy left through the gate without it!!! I would think that would be a pretty big asset to the SGC... I was jsut wondering if I missed something, or what...

They could have sent the Puddle Jumper back through earlier and this was their final farewell to Maybourne before heading back to earth.

Rumors have them traveling back in time in a future episode (Moebius), so they obviously kept control of it.
