It was okay. I hope we get to see and learn more about this temple that Teal'c and co. captured next week because I was more curious about that place than anything else in this episode and it was hardly shown. Actually, I thought they rushed Teal'c's storyline a little too much in this episode.

I've never been fond of episodes involving the mechanical bugs. I really don't like this whole duplicating Carter thing either. I thought it was interesting that it took Daniel as long as he did to realize Ohma was fake. I figured that out immediately and felt stronger about it after hearing her speak. The Ancients kicked him out and suddenly she's telling him he could ascend again when he dies? Come on Daniel.

The idea of an Ancient weapon which would destroy all life in the galaxy - why would they create such a weapon to begin with?

Anubis - the first guy he was in who had all those red welts on his face - was that the same guy who played the devil in "The Devil You Know" and "Jolinar's Memories?"

Jack - I don't like how juvenille his character has become. It's too much over the top to where I don't find his little comments all that funny but, well, just too juvenille. I can understand him acting that way around kids, but around mature colleagues - come on now.

So I thought the episode was okay. Annoyed that we don't know Thor's fate yet. Not one of the great episodes though.

I actually liked it better than I thought, but the second half of the episode I thought was better.

I am really interested in Teal'Cs plan as well. That has me a bit intrigued. Do you bleieve what Bal said about the weapon?

Although I like the replicator story, it's starting to get a little old. I think they should just wrap it all up now.

I'm interested in getting them back in conflict with Bal and Anubus.

I didn't really think to doubt Anubis. He gave me the clear impression in that scene when Anubis took a new host that he was not pleased with whatever Anubis was planning. So this would make sense if the weapon he was after would end up killing everyone. But perhaps Baal did make it up, for whatever reason.

But it will prove to be interesting because now three groups of people will be coming after this weapon. The replicators, the Goa'uld, and the SGC.

It almost seems to me to be a set up. As though perhaps the Ancients somehow knew this would happen and created a device which would draw these three groups, all enemies of one another, together for some greater purpose. Although what I'm imagining at the moment is that Star Trek TNG episode where they were all drawn to what they thought would be a weapon and instead they saw the image of a common ancestor or whatever telling them the meaning of life type of stuff. I don't know if they'll do that or not.

But I'm definitely interested in seeing how it all pans out next week.

I was wondering the same thing. It's just in the past Baal has always lied, cheated and double crossed them. But, he clearly was not happy about the Anubis thing. Just couldn't gauge it well because although Baal has always been in the storyline, you haven't actually seen him in quite some time.

Anyhow, the drawing of the three is very intrigueing as well. Although, I'm not so sure how much of a hand the ancients have in it besides creating the weapon itself.

Besides, the ancients are starting to get on my nerves. Had to wonder about the little comment replicator Sam made. The one about "all powerful being standing back and letting people get destroyed" (or something to that affect).

Was wondering if that was a "little" poke at religion and/or God.

As to Jack's juvenile behavior... Remember Abyss? Jack was SO loving that Baal... BAAL! came crawling to the SGC for help. He was just getting a little petty revenge...

Maybe the 'horrible weapon' has something to do with the new enemy that is worse than Go'auld or replicators. Maybe its the equivalent ot a wraith Hive ship, and we open up a new can of worms. Not actually Wraith, but something like that that is under suspension in the 'temple'.

I thought this was apretty good episode! I mean, it set up this weeks pretty well!! My only concern with Reconing 1 and 2 is taht a major player in the last few years wil be gone, probably, by then end of this weeks episode... If they don't destoy the weapon, then the Replicators are dead, but the Jaffa are probably dead... If they destoy the weapon, then everyone is pretty much dead (and we all know that doens't happen, so...)... It's all very confusing...

My comment about how juvenille Jack seems to have become was not directed solely at this episode but all the episodes here recently.

He has been a little juvenille lately, but, you know, as bad as it sounds, I thnk it's becasue he's in charge... He can't cut loose with SG-1 like he used to, and it's wearing on him, so, whenever SG-1 is around, he starts acting a little un-general-like... :) I dunno... maybe that's the set up to bring in the new General next season... who knows...

All I do know is that they never do anything without a reason for it, especially in sci fi, so... i'm just gonna keep watching and see what comes of it!
