OK,
I will be the first to post on the new episode.
I thought it was good, I loved the flash backs of the antartica fight.
I was a little disapointed with Cameron, but I think he will need a few episodes to find his groove.
Overall A+
Chris
~Edited to change title from "New Episode" to "Avalon part 1."~

I loved it! Definitiely way better than the Atlantis premiere!
It's interesting how they said Amanda Tapping would not appear due to maternity leave and yet she appeared, and not just in stock footage either (meaning scenes from previous episodes).
I thought the two new characters were great. Things did feel weird though with Jack just being gone and SG-1 being dismantled since there was no hint of it at the end of last season. And the one thing that made me mad was that there was no explanation as to what Jack is up to.
I loved the whole Merlin thing. But then I love the story about King Arthur and the knights of the round table. :)
Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I did really like it a lot. I think with a few more episodes and a little bit of background, I'm probably going to like Cameron. Although, I have to say, I already think Browder is awfully cute.
Oh yeah, I really did like Daniel's little play with the other new character. Why for the life of me, I cannot remember her name. But, it played out way better than the last episode they were in together (which I found boring).

Yeah, I think Cameron is better looking watching him on screen that still photographs of him.

You guys must have watched different show than I.
The new guy is OK, but the chick sucks. She's fugly, and her character is stupid. I almost switched the TV off, and if it wasn't for Atlantis coming up, I would have. Atlantis on the other hand is turning out to be a pleasant surprise. It was also very unrealistic. If I were the general or even Daniel and she put that bracelet on me, and then after finding out how it works, she still refused to remove it, I'd give her 2 choices: a) remove the bracelet or b) we'll surgically remove your hand to get your bracelet off. The Writers must have been replaced or took some stupid pills.

Okay, um, just a sidenote.......
This would not be the first show where it was a bit unrealistic. And despite Claudia Black (I think that's her name) not being a huge "looker" (which personally I think she is) the character is played well and is consistant with the last guest spot she had.
JMHO~

I believe that if they surgically removed her hand, it would have the same effect as if she died in which case Daniel would have died too.

OK,
Not sure what you consider to be attractive, but I sure wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.
As for her character she has a lot of info that we could use and I do not believe that cutting her wrist of would fix the problem. I believe you need the key. Now I'm sure she has the key, but we will have to wait untill Friday to find out.
Also if you are a fan of Stargate you will know that this is not the first annoying character to be intoduced, and not the first to take advantage of humans good nature.
Also as a side note, I believe Cladia Black is Michael Shanks wife in real life.

OMG, that is just so funny!
Michael Shanks is actually married to Lexa Doig who use to be on Andromeda.

I Stand corected. Thanks for the update.
Did she guest star on an episode of Stargate? I thought I read somewhere that his real life wife was in an episode.

Is Lexa Doig the woman he's chained to?

Um, talk about using my memory. Now, he does have a child with the actress who played Shar're at the begining of the series.
But, that is not who he is married to. According to IMDB and Gateworld, his wife (who he also has a child with) starred in Avalon part I as Dr. Carolyn Lam (but I don't remember or wasn't paying enough attention).
They also credit her with being in two upcoming episodes as well, playing the same character.
Michael Shanks has also guest starred on Andromeda. I don't know how many times, but I've seen him on the show twice. I was pleasantly suprised to see how well they work together.
EDIT: Here is a pic of her with BB in the upcoming "The Ties That Bind" episode.

I thought it was a good episode, introducing new character and new storyline. Seems like a fresh approach, s9 is written very well.
