I liked it, I would have liked it better if I saw last week and knew what in the world was going on.

The only thing I'm not happy about is the fact they haven't explained what Jack is going to be doing now.

And what's up with them not having the standard opening credits?

I'm going to refrain from commenting this week as for some reason or the other had 15 people in our house and only got tidbits of information. Wish I had seen it though because it looked really good.

I had people talking for about the first 15-20 minutes so I'm sketchy on that part.

I missed the week before so I really felt at a loss.

Daniel and that woman were in some place mentally, although their bodies were physically in the infirmary. I didn't get that because at one point Daniel woke up momentarily and it looked like his self in that far away place became someone else and at the end when he and the woman awoke, there were two other people there burning alive as Daniel and the woman were about to be before Cameron and Teal'c took the strange device and threw it into the gush of water thing that comes out of the Stargate that disintegrates anything that gets caught in it when it's first activated. That destroyed the device which allowed Daniel and the woman to wake up.

The people Daniel met with who were like the religious leaders or whatever you call them, looked like the evil Emperor from Star Wars if you ask me. Daniel talked with them and found out they served some ascended beings who believed people should worship them and these religious leaders believed that if anyone refused to do so, they should be killed. Basically like ji-hadists, or however you spell it. People like the Taliban who are extremists and believe if you don't worship their god then you should be killed. I couldn't quite figure out if the ascended beings wanted this, but from what Daniel seemed to figure out, the Ancients had shielded people in our galaxy from these beings. So these ascended beings are truly evil.

However, Daniel found out that the Ancients would not protect people in our galaxy from the followers of those evil ascended beings because it's too far beneath them to do so. So now that these religious people have discovered that there is this galaxy full of disbelievers, they are now on a mission to spread their religion into our galaxy, murdering anyone who does not choose to worship.

At the very end Jack found Daniel and spoke with him. Daniel told Jack something along the lines of him being truly scared for the first time in his life. Daniel is really afraid of these beings. The evil ascended beings have bestowed many of their powers on these religious people and they can do things normal people can not.

It's better after you've seen the two previous episodes in their entirity.

Something noteworthy was how Daniel was talking about how they were associated with fire and how fire to us is associated with demons and he wondered if the Ancients had something to do with that - with our perception of fire being associated with evil.

It still doesn't make sense to me why the Ancients wouldn't stop the Ori from empowering people to do evil here because the Ori are actively getting involved and it is affecting mortal life here. You'd think the Ancients would actually do something for that reason.

It doesn't make sense to me why the people from the other galaxy would not be awake in Daniel and the woman's body and able to communicate here.

Also, it's the Ancients fault that they left that communication device behind that the Ori now know about life here.

I couldn't figure out why, if the Ori are so powerful, why no one knew about them until now.

I also wondered why the other people were not awake in Daniel and Vala.

Why who didn't know about them?

The Gou'ld, Earth.....to my knowledge, Thor never mentioned them either.

And in this particular case, why didn't the Ancients ever warn anybody about them. They had to know sooner or later the Ori would figure out where Earth was. Daniel had been ascended twice (and yes, I know his memory was wiped clear the first time).

My thought is that they did warn people but that was thousands or more years ago when people were more superstitious and stuff like that and probably wouldn't understand Ancients telling them about aliens.

Daniel mentioned that the Ori are associated with fire and seems to think that our connecting fire with evil and demons had something to do with the Ancients. Which leads me to think that the Ancients did warn human ancestors about them but after all that time details were lost.

What would have been nice was if the Ancients left a warning inscribed on that device that Daniel could have translated and understood.

I thought Daniel kept his memory from the last time he ascended. Wouldn't that have helped him remember the Ori? Just guessing here.

I'm wondering if the Nox are as powerful as the Ori.

You mean the diner episode? I wasn't under the impression he remembered everything from his prior ascension in that episode. It's possible too that he never learned anything about the Ori when he was ascended. Considering how long it's been since the Ori were a part of the Anicents lives, it might not be something they think about that often for Daniel to have even picked up on. :idea

Bump

Couldn't they just travel back and tell themself not to use the stones, thus hindering the ori attack?

Anissa T

Are you talking about using the device to travel back? They couldn't tell themselves because they were not themselves. Their minds were in other peoples bodies. And the one person they did tell, didn't he get killed or taken away. So, it's like who are they gonna tell who would believe them anyway?

I mean, after they got back, like in the end, could they not use the puddlejumper and leave a note saying something like DO not use the black stones. When they got back, would they still be gone or would the new them exist making them two sets?

That's the dilemma. Even if they could do that, they risk changing all history. WHo knows whether it could be good or bad.
