I indeed liked this episode. Not something I would have thought about (Anubis hybrid).
But, I did have a few questions. Like when they sent the second MALP, how did Sam know the original MALP would be right off to the left hand side?
If they knew that Khalik couldn't go back because he would learn how to ascend, why didn't they just destroy everything? Although, having the gate dial back was a good one.
And, why did Khalik loose some of his powers when he came back through the gate? I mean, if I remember correctly, he healed from when Mitchell shot him the first time. Why not the second time they shot him?
I also had a lightbulb moment. I had always thought that Lexa Doig playing the doctor wasn't my cup of tea. Then, I just put that off to liking Teryl Rothery too much. Then, tonight I realized that wasn't it as all. As much as I liked Lexa Doig in Andromeda, she isn't working for me as a doctor. She also is carrying over a lot of her Avatar qualities into SG. If you notice that way she talks, it's very similar to the way she talked in Andromeda, which I always attributed to her being an Avatar and not just the way she talked. Maybe I'm just being too nit picky.

I also liked this episode, ofcourse not many I don't like. Anyway I agree with Newfan about Lexa. I'm just not getting the doctor vibe from her.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I loved the part when Daniel hits Mitchell (not really) and says "hey new guy" when Mitchell pushed the button on the hybrid container thinking (hoping) it was the light.
I thought for a split second, they got it right.

That was a good line.

We read from left to right, so maybe it's natural to scan from left to right?

My guesses are ...
1. If he has all of Anubis's memories and knowledge, he would probably know how to repair the damage.
2. They weren't sure how to accomplish such given that it's such advanced technology. They may think they destroyed it when they really did very little damage.
3. It was Daniel's thought and the first thing he thought of, they were both in a hurry to get home so Sam just went with it without thinking of other alternatives.
And, why did Khalik loose some of his powers when he came back through the gate? I mean, if I remember correctly, he healed from when Mitchell shot him the first time. Why not the second time they shot him?
From how I saw it, he was so focused on Cameron that he totally didn't notice that Daniel had come in, thus he didn't block Daniel's gun from shooting him because it was too late.
However, as to why they were so certain he was dead that time I have no idea, unless before he never lost his pulse and this time he did, but I don't even remember them checking him for a pulse.
She also is carrying over a lot of her Avatar qualities into SG. If you notice that way she talks, it's very similar to the way she talked in Andromeda, which I always attributed to her being an Avatar and not just the way she talked. Maybe I'm just being too nit picky.
My only knowledge of what an Avatar is is that's it's the little image people use as personal images on message boards. So what do you mean she was an Avatar?
I don't like Lexa Doig either, but then I really don't care for General Landry either.
I'm trying to remember details from the episode since it's been nearly 48 hours since I watched it.
Weird episode. Interesting episode.
What I want to know is if the guy had the power to read minds, when he was staring up at Sam as he began the dialing sequence to leave, why didn't he read her mind to discover what she had done? That confused me.
And at the end when they shot him and left him for dead, why didn't they cut off his head to be sure? I doubt he could grow back his head. That's something I've never gotten even with Goa'uld who have super healing abilities, why don't they cut off their heads?
It was an okay episode, I think I liked it more than I thought I would when I read the synopsis online. One problem is, we still don't know what has happened to Anubis or Oma Desala. When do we get to find that out?
What's up with Bob Picardo's character being so incredibly stupid. Didn't he learn his lesson to side with SG-1 back when he appeared before?
I don't understand why they had to air two SG-1 episodes to finish off the first half of the season on the same night and do the same next week for Atlantis. I would have much rather seen Prototype and an episode of Atlantis and see the first half of the season closure for both on the same night. Mainly because I'm more apt to tune in to watch Atlantis if I've been watching SG-1, but if there's no SG-1 on next Friday night, I might find myself doing other things that I don't really want to break from to tune into watch Atlantis. Atlantis is just not as likable a show to me as SG-1. I find Atlantis's character development to be seriously lacking as well as character likablility among the starring cast.

An alternate definition of an avatar is....
1. Among people working on virtual reality and cyberspace
interfaces, an "avatar" is an icon or representation of a user in a shared virtual reality.
While on Andromeda, she played the computer. Being a virtual reality version of the computer, thus being able to call her an avatar.
I actually really liked her on Andromeda. I especially liked the episode where she fell in love with her husband, cough, cough, Michael Shanks, (who played another avatar, I think).

Bump.
Just saw the episode, man I hate when good people have to die because some tard in a suit thinks he knows the best. My first thoughts were kill him, because there is no way this will not escolate into something big. I mean, if hes constantly evolving, they should realize he would eventually be able to control everything.
He did not notice Daniel jackson in the last room when he was shot. I reckon they said he learned how the healing worked as he was shot and therfore learned to heal, but if enough bullets were put in he would die faster then he would heal. I would go up and shoot him in dead head and/or snap his neck to be sure. Or chop his head of incase he would rise from the dead (you never know)
