Nice to have opening credits again but Atlantis's opening credits were better.

Interesting episode though one thing I absolutely did not like - I thought this season promised to have SG-1 going back to its routes, the team is totally split apart. Cam and Daniel on one world, Teal'c on another, and Sam back home. In no way does it feel like a team. I miss Jack, I'm not impressed with this season so far.

I saw no point to Hammond's cameo. Just a show your face and say hello isn't worth bringing him back, he needs more story than that.

The dialogue between the new general and his daughter where she confesses she's beginning to understand him - they haven't built up these characters and they have been around long enough for me to care one bit about their personal lives.

Daniel taking over Jack's role as a smart-mouth sarcastic soldier is horrible, I loved Daniel for his individual character, now that he's trying to be Jack I find him to be more annoying.

Poor Orlin, I didn't like how his character ended up. Shame on the Ancients. The more the show progresses, the more I really, really don't like the Ancients.

They didn't explain how the trapped Ori suddenly got his powers again so that he could infect Landry. Or did he step past the invisible sound barrier?

Overall, I thought this episode could have been done a whole lot better than it was.

I think the interaction between Landry and his daughter was unbelievable because of the acting. These two characters just don't flow well with each other. But, Landry just didn't seem believable.

I really wish the team would work together.

Orlin, that was a bit sad to me. Okay, it was a lot sad to me. Do you think they will resurrect the character somehow down the road?

The part of the story with Orlin was sad but they did leave it open for something in the future with him.

As for how the Ori got his powers back, is they never really went away. The Ori have there power and they need to have strong concentration to use them. The device just disrupted that concentration. However if the Ori concentrate hard enough I think this device would be useless. As you saw he was shot by cameron because it took every bit of concentration to infect Landry and thus could not put up his sheild.

One part I did like was when the Ori woke up and saw Cameron with his staff and attempted to use his powers to grab it, and Cameron moved the staff towards him and then pulled it back. I thought that was funny.

I agree I liked the show better when the team SG1 was together saving the world. I stated before they wanted to change the name of the series to Stargate Command, which this season seems to be more like. and I don't like it. I want SG1.

I believe there has not been enough ineraction between General Landry and his daughter to make their scene necessary. Not sure why that was there. and as for Hammond comming back, it would have been better if he was there for safty reasons and then took over for a bit while Landry was down.

I wonder what happened to Gerak? Did he die or did an ancient assend him? and if so for what purpose? Maybe to get some knowledge of the Ori end game? I'm not sure we have seen the end of Gerak.

I believe Gerak died. Didn't he say he would die free just before he saved everyone? I must say that I wasn't expecting him to take that action.

I totally was suprised by Gerak's move as well. Although saddened to see him die and I believe he did, it was a real (what I call) a Bra'tac moment.

Do you think Gerak joined with the Ori, knowing he could help them? Knowing this, hopefully working out the growing rift between the Tauri and Jaffa?

Gerak did say he would die free and then he burst into flames, however I question what happened to him then. It seemed as if he just disapeared, and they stated they doubted that the ori could have done that from another galaxy, thus got me thinking about the ancients maybe having a hand in his acension.

He could always come back, this is Sci-Fi. But I'd rather them bring back some other characters we believe to be dead first - Frasier, Narim, Jacob, Charlie, etc...

So I take it Oma was not the only ancient helping people ascend.

And speaking of people coming back. Why do you think Daniel was such a big object of Oma's attention and not other people who were just as good such as Dr. Frasier, Narim, Jacob and such.

I don't think Gerak necessarily ascended. If the fire killed him there should have been ashes I would think.

Oma isn't omnipresent so it's believable that she isn't always there to ascene people. Why Daniel? I think she had a crush. ;)

Oma was guided by the most powerful of Ancients - Plotus Deviceus.

Daniel taking over Jack's role as a smart-mouth sarcastic soldier is horrible, I loved Daniel for his individual character, now that he's trying to be Jack I find him to be more annoying.

I don't know why the writers and producers are trying to bring out Jackish traits in other characters; first Cameron, now Daniel. If Teal'c starts saying 'For cryin' out loud', I may scream.

All they are doing is calling attention to the fact that Jack isn't there when they should be trying to work on the dynamic between the characters who are.

Poor Orlin, I didn't like how his character ended up.

The poor guy gives everything to save Earth and its people from extinction and his reward is to end up in what looked like a nursing home.

It reminded me of Merrin in 'Learning Curve'. I don't know if the ending of that episode was supposed to be semi-happy or not, but I thought that it was tragic.

I totally didn't understand why he would end up in an old folks home at the end. That made absolutely no sense. Sure he's an Ancient and older than anyone on earth, but clearly he now has the mind of a child with no memory of his true identitiy.

Either he should be in some kind of hospital or institution for children, or he should be in a children's home, or someone with military clearance should have taken him into their home. But to put a child in an old folks home? That was too unrealistic.

After they talked about the Ori not being able to take action in our galaxy b/c of the Ancients, there was mention about a "fail safe" in the Priors that would make them self-destruct if they ever turned against the Ori.....hense Flaming Garek

I totally didn't understand why he would end up in an old folks home at the end.

Maybe it was a facility operated by the military for veterans and they put him there for security reasons or something.

Garek is dead. The flames meant death. An other prior was killed this way a few episodes. The reason there was no ashes was because the ori killed him. The oris symbol is fire. Daniel also said, they couldn't kill him from so far away, but they implanted self-destruct if he would disobey
