Daniel is imprisoned on a world under the influence of the Ori, and the Prometheus is caught in a firefight when SG-1 tries to rescue him. I do think it was better than last week but I just really wasn't very fond of it. I seemed to have the reverse thinking of SG-1 throughout the entire episode and that bugged me because I think I was thinking with common sense and I thought they were thinking and acting without it, and SG-1 has always been good with common sense in the past.

************************************************** **********

First of all, the guy who came through the gate and told them his story - they didn't seem the slightest bit suspcious. I'd have been suspicious. How did he gain access to the Stargate without anyone knowing? Seems rather weird to me.

So second, it seemed even weirder and more fool-hearty for SG-1 to go rushing off in Prometheus to destroy it. As it was said later, they could simply rebuild. And I can't believe they thought it would be as easy to destroy as they did. Did they honestly think the Prior's and Ori would build something with that much power that could just simply be destroyed? And that Landry would approve the mission based on this third hand information seemed even more unlikely to me.

All around, I can't believe they would have acted as they did. I thought the guy was suspicious, I wouldn't have acted so quickly like SG-1 did.

BTW, I did like the scene in Landry's office.

Third, the moment their weapons proved ineffective on the weapon, I'd have turned tail. They heard what kind of power it had and they suddenly realized it was impossible to destroy. That they stuck around was insane. They should have at least moved to the other side of the planet out of range of the weapon if nothing else.

Fourth, I'm really sick of them loving to kill people off. I actually wanted to see more of the guy who commanded the Prometheus, I thought he was a good character and they just had to kill him off.

Fifth, that they would accept Daniel's proposal and decide not to destroy the satellite. My only thought was that they put their personal feelings for Daniel over the safety of the people. So far the people holding Daniel prisoner had shown no mercy or that they could be trusted, why then would they suddenly think they'd keep their promise?

Another thing I didn't like was that we didn't get to see Landry's reaction. Landry really needed to be in this episode for it to have worked.

But it wasn't all bad. Here are the points that I liked...

1. The scene in Landry's office - I loved the bit about sitting in his chair.

2. The overall point to the movie which was showing the pointlessness of war. I loved that guy's line asking how long we're going to fight our father's father's war, etc... I thought it was a cool line.

3. Daniel's down time - before he got hyper again - when he thought all his team was dead. I like seeing Daniel somber like that, I only wish he had stayed that way a little while longer because I think it adds greatly to his character that he can actually feel deep sadness to the point he can't speak. It's good to know Daniel still cares when so often he seems so hyper that you don't see so much of his depth.

4. Sam and Cam hug. It's lovely to see team members hug without sensing they're attracted to each other, but are just friends. Yea! It felt awkward though that she did not hug Teal'c after that. I think Teal'c has softened to the point that it's acceptable to see him hug Sam, especially in a situation like that where he had thought she was dead.

Another thing I didn't like because it seemed out of place was Cam bringing Daniel a beer and the two of them drinking at the end. They were on base - is that allowed? I know where I work you'd get in serious trouble for drinking a beer. Is it different in the Air Force?

I wondered if it was a beer or soda. I don't recall them actually saying it was a beer, but I would be wrong. I was doing homework at the same time. However, even if it were a beer, they cleary were not working and being at that particular location (where they stay sometimes) I think they work things a little bit differently. Although, I probably wouldn't be having a beer in my office.

Anyhow, I actually liked that things didn't work out like Daniel wanted them too. So many times in past episodes Daniel has begged them to do things and then it all worked out. That use to bug me so much. Shows you how things don't always go as planned.

I too liked the scene in Landry's office. Tickled me a bit.

I did like the scene at the end with Daniel. Shows Cam's fitting in. He had a special scene with Sam and Teal'C last week.

Your right. I didn't like how they just ran off and went to help them. That for a military group didn't seem right.

It was a gray can and I was pretty sure I could make out the word Coors and perhaps the word Light on it.

I liked this show. I just wonder how the s&*t is going to hit the fan when they have to tell someone they lost the promethius.

I was thinking about that too. Those ships aren't built overnight and obviously cost a lot of money and I think that was the first of only two ships. It's not like they have a whole fleet.

But you know they keep trying to be like Star Trek. So to be like Star Trek, they gotta blow up a big ship for the good guys too.

So true. I have been think this whole season that it was turning into more of a Startrek series than Stargate.
