Well, it's pretty much the ending I suspected. Although the ending battle was pretty good. I liked it. Poor Sam, sitting in space all by her lonesome watching helplessly.

You know that wasn't Daniel and Cam blown up. I mean, I'm sure it could have been, but you know it's not.

I'm also wondering how in the world did Teal'C get the Lucian (sp??) to help them.

I know there is more I wanted to comment on, but I can't recall right now.

I think this episode was one of the best ever. The visual effects in the space battle were awesome, possibly only comparable to when Atlantis rose up from the ocean or the battle in Antarctica. I agree that it was probably the Odyssey that was destroyed. Also, that means that our only ship is the Korolev, which is commanded by possibly my favorite non-American Earthling character, Col. Chekov.

As for how SG-1 gets out of this mess, I can only think of two possibilities. One would be that Vala is able to help somehow, but she seemed a bit preoccupied with her own "issues" at the very end of the episode. My other theory involves the prophecy that SG-1 learned about in Camelot. Something about how King Arthur would return when the sword was pulled from the stone. Also, as I recall, Mitchell has speculated that Arthur was born in the same way that Vala's baby is being born- apparently legend has it that Merlin "magically" caused him to be concieved. So perhaps the two possibilities I mentioned are actually linked. Maybe 'King Arthur' is Vala's baby? I mean, that's all speculation but that's the best thing I could come up with, because apparently even the Asgard couldn't provide much help against the Ori ships, which means it would take some sort of Ancient technology, or an Ancient him/herself, to keep these few Ori ships from destroying SG-1 and whatever's left of the Jaffa and Lucien fleets.

That idea about Vala's baby is very intriguing, however, wasn't the Ori the one's who made her pregnant? Why would they bring Merlin back if they are so powerful anyway? Or do you think they got her pregnant with other intentions, but somehow the baby turned to Merlin during the battle?

And I agree, visually, the ending was stunning. It just didn't suprise me much.

Please remember to put the season and episode number before the title. Just for easy reference, that way if a title doesn't look familiar, a person will at least know when in the series it aired.

Thanks! :)

I'm back finally, I had some computer problems over the weekend, still have some bugs to work out. Anyhoo...

The end of the episode felt very Star Warsy to me. Vala looking on as her people were being destroyed was very remnescent to me of Luke doing the same in Return of the Jedi. And the whole battle sequence looked very Star Warsy as well.

I was kinda disappointed with the whole plot on the planet, it felt like they spent way too much time and accomplished little to nothing. What bugged me the most was that no one tried to pull the sword from the stone. Cameron did it once before, why didn't he try again? Why didn't any of them try. Shoot, if I was with them that would have been the first thing I'd have done - tried pulling the sword from the stone. I can't believe that none of them tried it.

I was also pretty disappointed that Merlin's library was what it was.

Interesting theory about Vala, but that would presume that Merlin could see into the future. Perhaps the Ori impregnated her but don't realize the baby's true purpose. Or it's possible that the Ori only think they impregnated her but perhaps the Ancients did, or Merlin, or someone or something else.

I'd really hate to be in Sam's position. What if they all get killed, that would be a slow death for her.

And of course isn't it conveinant that the Ori ships came just when they did?

I think that was the most predictable part of the show. Sam being out there and then the ships show up. Almost wish they never had that scene.

The last time Mitchell pulled a sword from a stone he got his butt whipped by a holographic knight. Star Warsy is a good thing for me, because I'm nearly as big a Star Wars fan as I am a Stargate fan. And, just because I wasn't surprised by it doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. They might have had a reason for making Sam get stuck outside when the battle started. We won't know about that until July, though.

You know, I'm thinking (oh, oh). Why did they impregnate Vala?

If they are so powerful, why would they need a human baby (is Vala human, I can't remember)?

Is it possible the actress is pregnant which is why she was gone for most of the season so to bring her back in they'll have to write a story explaining her belly?

Hmmm.....I wonder if that's why they made her pregnant in Farscape too.

She is.

Apparently, her son was born in December of '05. I'm not sure, but I think that would be before filming Crusade and [/i]Camelot[/i].
