I think it had a lot of unused potential. An ancient castle falling into the ocean and there was only one room of interest?

It also doesn't make sense how they were able to dial another Stargate since this was before they accounted for stellar drift. I so doubt it changed that much in 50 years time.

But it did have enough to spark the imagination.
