Should Elizabeth Weir and John Sheppard become a couple (romantically) during the course of the show?

I vote no. I just don't like the idea of those two together for some reason. She seem too old for him which I think is due more to her personality than her physical age (seeing as how I don't know whose older). I really liked her with Simon and I wish they didn't kick him out of the picture like they did.

I don't like the idea of it either. But, for other reasons, like them being in each others chain of command. I just have serious issue with that.
HOWEVER, that said, they are also on a specialized mission that may down the road have to open itself up to the idea of people at the stationed getting together.
I relate it to what I like to call the "Star Trek" issue. How can you tell people who could potentially (although not such an issue now) never make it back home or be on missions that take you away from such situations for years at a time.
Anyhow, I really did like her with Simon. I also wish they didn't break up. I thought they made a very good couple. Anyhow, I'm hoping somewhere down the road that they will allow some of these people to starts families and/or bring their families from Earth.
FYI, did I ever mention that I really like the pic you have of TH on this page? It's really compliments her.

Though she's a civilian and he's military. I think a lot of companies have rules against a supervisor dating someone directly beneath them and that would apply here. Not like it's never happened, but there's a reason why companies are against the idea.

definetly not. I just don't think I could see them both together, I mean they are leaders of respective groups and I can't see them being able to to keep their private life and their commands as separate entities. Way too much room for a screw up.

I don't know how old they are, but Weir seems so much older than Sheppard. I'm sure it has everything to do with the maturity and personality of the characters rather than their physical ages. Weir is determined and goal-oriented. She knows what she wants and how to get it. Very mature and organized and a bit stuffy. She's the kind of person you would imagine to be CEO of a company. Strict but fair, always follows the rules.
Sheppard on the other hand acts like he's a teenager a lot of the time. Very care-free, whether or not he really is who knows. But more rebellious, moves at his own paces, resents authority to a degree especially if he feels misunderstood and he can easily feel misunderstood. We've seen that in the show. More apt to get into a fight whereas Weir is the negotiator who tries to settle arguments so they can't turn into fights.
While opposites do attract and it's good to marry someone whose weaknesses are your strenghts and whose strengths are your weaknesses, I think they really need someone a little more like them. They're too opposite of each other in my opinion and I don't think either would truly be happy with the other's way of looking at and handling life.
What Sheppard needs is a soft-hearted woman who can share his pain and Weir doesn't strike me quite as the type.l Weir needs someone who can match her on an intellectually academic level (meaning has received formal higher education like she has) and matches her on maturity.
Seriously, I liked the guy she left behind on earth a lot. Maybe becuase I like the actor since he played Narim.

No, I don't think that would do good for the show.

No, colonel carter, you really need to get over that people in the teams should be dating! in every personell file there is like two should x and x be together ? ^^
When there are relationships involved, there are emotions involved, when planets can be destroyed to save one life. In sg-1 sam and jack shouldnt really be working together, it works better when hes the general

I think they are valid questions, given the situation, especially on Atlantis. Especially when there was a time when they thought they would never see Earth again. What do you tell people? They can never have a relationship? That is unrealistic.
Plus, as you point out about Jack and Sam, I think the question derived because of the dynamics of their relationship on SG1. You have to wonder the same about relationships on Atlantis.

Ok, I might be the real odd ball here, but I did say no, but not for the reasons everyone else stated. I find that Weir and Seppard have more of a brother/sister/friends relationship. I am sure I am not the only one who sees this. I think that if they became so called romantically involved it would ruin their friendship and their working relationship. They are after all the head of Atlantis of the Terra teams. They need to set an example and if they can not get along...no one will. They are just fine the way they are.
Just my... :2cents:

I totally agree with this. I don't see them as a couple, so I voted no. My decision has nothing to do with protocol. I just don't see them as a couple.
