Did Carter's fiance die?

I saw the episode last night where she told the cop who said he was moving to Colorado Springs that she would marry him. Of course Teal'c's reason for leaving at the end was because he knew anyone close to him would be in danger of being used like his neighbor was. I don't know if it happened or not before the summer finale, but I feel positive that this guy will die. If so, Carter would then be able to relate to everyone else on SG-1 as having lost someone she loved deeply. Jack deeply loved his son Charlie who died, Daniel his wife Sha're, and Teal'c his wife (not sure of her name).

Besides, Sam and Jack are destined for each other imho. ;)

He didn't die. I don't think he will either. I'm pretty sure this will be the last season. So, I think they are preparing for a series finale. I don't think that she will get together with Jack because of the conversation she had with him before she said yes.

As far as relating to others in the team. Carter has lost people she cared/loved. She started falling in love with Narim, then it never says whether or not he dies. Then her father almost died before getting a symbiot (sp??). Really, she lost Jack too. So, I think, really she understands.
