What did you think of the pilot episode?

I myself love the series, but I hated the pilot. I hated what they did to Skaara and Daniel's wife. It made Jack and Daniel's efforts in the movie feel somewhat in vain.

And I thought it was totally inappropriate and unnecessary to show Daniel's wife completely naked. I feel the movie and the film can attract a younger audience and that it was irresponsible for them to rate it R for something like that.

The nudity in the Pilot was way overboard! I was kinda shocked when I saw it recently!! :whoa I had completely forgotten about it!

And I really didn't like the interactions between SG-1... >: Sam and Jack's initial meeting annoyed me... they made Sam a little over the top for my taste. :cry

It is really actually kinda funny to watch the Pilot, then look at this season! It cracks me up how much Daniel and Jack didn't like each other then, and now look at them! :) And Teal'c's apartment... :) Very cool! Thank goodness for character evolutions! :tgrin

Uh, now that I've thought about it, I don't think I've seen the pilot. I've seen a lot of episodes, but I don't think I've been the actual pilot.

Hmmm.....

Nice thing about DVD's, no commercials. :) Bad thing about DVD's, they're so expensive. :(

That is the one and only reason I don't have them yet.

Fundage!

LOL~!

Yep! Fundage is what's keeping me from getting anything else besides season 1... that killed my money for a while! :) But it was so worth it! :tgrin

While, I will watch the early episodes, I really only want from about season 3 on. Although, for season 1 and 2 I wish they had a best of DVD. You know, like top 5 or 6 episodes for the season.

But, I've been thinking for awhile about putting them on layaway. We'll see. Unfortunately, the only store I can put them on layaway don't have very many of the seasons there.

You should check out Circuit City near you. At the local store where I live, they often break out the season boxed sets and sell the individual DVDs for around $10 each. That's how my wife got the entire first two seasons, and part of season 3.

That would run it at about $50 a set.

Checking out online...

Best Buy - 50.99 for each season except season six is 49.99. Why season 6 is a buck cheaper I have no idea.

Barnes and Noble - 59.46 through season 5, 62.96 for season 6, 48.97 for season 7.

So Barnes and Noble has the best price of the two for season 7, Best Buy for the rest. I know B&N offers free shipping with certain purchases. I don't know about Best Buy.

I was in a Suncoast movie store and saw the box sets running about $70 each. That's actually where I bought season 1, but I think that's it, Best Buy offers better prices by about $20.

Yes, ironically, if you buy the boxed set in Circuit City they run about 59.99. But the point I was trying to make is that its easier to spend 10 bucks a payday and get them one at a time than to shell out 50 plus for five at once. Also you get to feed your SG1 habit more often, but just in smaller doses. :)
