What do you think will happen to Sam for the rest of this season with Amanda now being pregnant and due in March?

My three thoughts are (in no particular order)...

1. She'll take off for the rest of the season, somehow she'll be written off, like Daniel was for season six. And if the show continues into a ninth season, she'll be back or at least for the finale probably.

2. Her pregnancy will be written into the script. Kind of like they did with the actress who played Counselor Troy in season 2 of Star Trek TNG. Maybe aliens will do something to make her pregnant with Jack's baby. :thor

3. They'll maneuver the camera in ways that hide her belly.

I read over at Gateworld that they were not going to write her pregnancy into the storyline.

I have no proof, but I really think this will probably be the last season.

In an interview on the first season dvd, one of the creators said that when they started thinking of a series, they could foresee it lasting 10 years. I wouldn't be surprised if the show has another season or 2 left in it.

Well, I thought they already had the rest of this season wrapped? If that's the case, it'll be all good for the rest of this season. :cam Next season, who knows! I really hope it lasts a few more seasons! :pray there are still a few ideas left that they haven't really gotten to yet! :rings

I would love for it to last a few more seasons as well, but in an interview I saw (can't remember if it was Michael Shanks or Amanda Tapping), they were saying it took a lot of people and a lot of smooth talking to get RDA back for season 8. That he didn't really want to do it, but decided at the last minute to stay.

Anyhow, if he doesn't want to do an additional season, I say stop it now. I would hate to see the main characters dwindle down and then the show go off the air.

It deserves better than that.

I agree that it's better for a tv show to end on a high note rather than degrade to the point where no one really likes it anymore.

I'd like it to end on a high note, too... I mean, it can't go on forever (even though I'm sure a lot of us would like it to), but I still think there are a few more story lines that can be addressed to make really good eps... like the replicators coming back, or something like that.

I would love to see an episode or two with the Nox. Even if it's just a quick scene or two. I really like them. Haven't seen the Tok'ra (besides Jacob) in quite some time either.

I never cared much for the Tok'ra. The Nox were interesting. I think they left me wanting more because they revealed their technology there at the very end and I was left with the feeling that I didn't know them at all. And then to find that they were one of the four races which included the Ancients, meaning they're a very old race, makes them all the more fascinating.

I sometimes wonder if all Nox are as peaceful as the ones we've met are. Think about it. It looked like a good number lived up in that hidden city in the sky. The Nox out in the woods that we met seemed more like hippies. If people came to our world and met tree-hugging hippies living in the wilderness, it might be concluded by those people visiting that all humans are like that when it's not.

The Nox we met in the woods gave the impression that they did not like technology and yet clearly they have technology far more advanced and they use it. And the one Nox at the end who told them not to be afraid for their safety and then revealed the city in the sky - to me that sounded like an indication that they would fight back if invaded. So I had to wonder if they weren't being a bit hypocritical for chastising SG-1 for their means of fighting.

I think that was more a political poke than anything else. Meaning to use force only when absolutely neccesary.
