Why not bring back Jonas?

With Jack no longer leading SG-1, they need a fourth man, so why don't they bring back Jonas?

Here's an older picture I found of him. Sorry it wouldn't link. Doesn't he just look like the All-American-Kid? A prep, jock, he looks like someone I could have gone to High School with.

Makes sense, but a whole lot of the fans were so upset over Shanks leaving that Nemic didn't get a very warm welcome and it would probably be the same a second time around.

But, frankly, since he plays almost the same role as Daniel, how would his character help?

He isn't Daniel and I never thought of him as a replacement in that sense, I saw him as a totally different character. I missed Daniel when Jonas was there, but I miss Jonas not being there now. They are different characters and I'd love to see them work side by side.

I had no problem accepting Jonas. He had a different personality than Daniel and one which I liked very much. Didn't hurt that he had cute dimples as well. ;)

I didn't say he was. I'm saying their function (history, translating etc.) is almost the same. I guess I didn't make that clear.

Anyhow, I loved Jonas when he was on the show. I just don't know how they will fit him in along side Daniel.

OK, so I wasn't a big Jonas fan to start with... I was Daniel all the way!! In fact, I hated Jonas with a passion... but, you know, he kinda grew on me, and is still growing on me the more I watch him... :) He is a completely different character, with his own little quirks and stuff. I dunno if they would need him on SG-1, but I wish they would have kept him around on another team maybe... :) That would have been cool!

I'd have loved to see Jonas rejoin SG-1 in Season Nine, especially as we didn't see much of him interacting with Daniel the first time around, for obvious reasons.

What do you think? Would they get on like a house on fire or would there be some friction and territorialism over their place on the team?

I still want to see Jonas again. I disagree with those who didn't like his character, I thought he was a fabulous character and could add certain things to the show that the other characters could not.
