Do you think Jack is capable of actually shedding tears? Would you like to see him do so in an episode, why or why not?
So far I've seen Daniel cry. He cried in the series premiere when he lost his wife. I've seen Sam cry. She cried in "Singularity" when she had to leave Cassandra behind. I think she cried. She got very emotional. I'm not sure about Teal'c.

I think Teal'c cried during the eps where his wife died and he almsot lost his son... If I remember correctly, Jack cried in the ep in season 1 with the alien that took the form of his son... but I could be very wrong. He isn't a crier, though.

I was thinking he cried in that episode too, but I'd have to go back and watch it again.
But, really I don't think I'd like crying Jack. I like sarcastic Jack better.

No, he didn't cry in that episode. After the alien experienced the flash back of the day Charlie shot himself, Sara walked by Charlie's room and saw the alien Jack hugging a pillow and rocking back and forth, but he wasn't crying. Later Sara said to him that she though he looked ready to cry. And even if the alien Jack did, it's not the real Jack so it's not the same.
Later when the alien turned into Charlie, Jack's eyes got big in surprise, but he never cried.
So yeah, Jack never cried in that episode.
The closes I've seen him come I think was Kurt Russell in the movie after he and Daniel came into the caves with the kids and his voice quaivered as he shouted. But even he didn't cry in that movie. Tough Jack with all his military bravado.

I'm not real sure I'd like him crying, either, but, I dunno, maybe it's just me, but there's something about the wounded bad-a$$ showing his emotions a little... :) I dunno... It could show a completely differnt side to Jack that we haven't seen in over 8 years...

It would definitely have to be something serious if he ever cried because he's put up such a wall around him to prevent himself from expressing such emotion. Maybe it's a hardness he's built up out of necessity having lost so many people in his life.

All the losses or the black ops training he's had... or both, at this rate... It sould have to be really bad, though, I agree with you there!

I FOUND ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the second season, in "Message in a Bottle" he was crying! Although, I would be doing more than that if I had an indestructable pole coming through my shoulder pinning me 10 feet in the air pumping me full of little organisms!!!!

Hey, I saw that episode last night and was thinking the same thing! Poor Jack.
Concerning that episode - stopping the auto-destruct with one second to spare is soooooo Star Trek! :b
