Colonel Carter

With Ben Browder joining the cast, he's going to have the same exact rank as Sam, unless they up her rank. Because isn't she Lt. Colonel right now? and Ben Browder's character is going to have the rank of Lt. Colonel, at least from what I've read. How can they have to Lt. Colonel's on a team and no higher ranking officer? That doesn't seem workable because one obviously wouldn't have to report to the other if they are of the same rank, yet you can't have two people leading a team of four, especially being military where they are extremely structured and organized and follow a very clear level of command.
Do you suppose Sam will get promoted so that she'll have a higher rank and that she'll lead the team? After all, she'll have way more experience than Browder's character and it doesn't seem right to let a rookie lead the well experienced SG-1 team.
In case you haven't read or heard (I've put the info on my site as well), Browder's character was a pilot who fought against Anubis in the battle at Antartica (still haven't seen that episode) and was almost killed. He was promised a spot on SG-1 if he survived. Apparantly the SG-1 people already know this guy very well.
Don't know what's going to happen with Jack, if we'll see him at all and who will be the General in charge if he's gone. (Would love to see Hammond return.) Question - why can't he just move to Vancouver and have his daughter there with him? I'm sure it's a much safer place to live than LA.
