I noticed something today when I watched "The Nox." When Daniel is talking with the oldest Nox, the Nox says something has been a certain way for many years. Then when Daniel asks how old he is, the Nox asks Daniel how he measures time. Considering he just used the word "years" in a sentence, he clearly understood Daniel's measurement of time. So then why did he ask Daniel how he measured time?

Perhaps he wasn't suer "Daniel" understood their measurement of time. Or even if they both knew what a "year" was, he could have been simply trying to find the easiest way to explain it to him.
