I've been thinking about this. Imagine how different the show could have been if instead of being taken by the Goa'uld, Skaara had been rescued.

He has the heart of being a soldier like Jack and like Daniel, would surely want to join SG-1 to help find and rescue his sister. Even though he is so young and inexperienced, I think Hammond could have been convinced to allow Skaara to join the team.

I think this could have added a lot to an already great show. Skaara would have added a new dynamic - youth, possibly appealing more to a teenagers who might tune in. He could have added a different emotional element to the group, perhaps hitting a bit of a rebellious phase on the journey and learning to essentially "grow up" and become the man he wants to become with Jack there as a role model.

What do you guys think? Do you think Skaara could have been good to add to SG-1 in the beginning or do you think it's better the way they did it or something else?

No. Nothing personal. I just think he was totally meant to be with his people and not on Earth.

Yeah, but he didn't spend the series with his people. He spent it on Goa'uld ships being possessed by a Goa'uld. Poor Skaara.

He could have made a great guest character after Klorel was removed, after all, he would have had at least some of Klorel's memories so he could have given them a lot of information about the Goa'uld. Then again, the NID would probably have tried to kidnap him if he had been on Earth.

It would be nice to see an occasional appearance. Kind of how Bratac would show up every now and then.

Bratac and Skaara might actually have made a fairly good team - some of the Jaffa on Chulak could have known Klorel and Skaara would be living proof that the Goa'uld were parasites rather than gods.
