I've been thinking about this. Imagine how different the show could have been if instead of being taken by the Goa'uld, Skaara had been rescued.
He has the heart of being a soldier like Jack and like Daniel, would surely want to join SG-1 to help find and rescue his sister. Even though he is so young and inexperienced, I think Hammond could have been convinced to allow Skaara to join the team.
I think this could have added a lot to an already great show. Skaara would have added a new dynamic - youth, possibly appealing more to a teenagers who might tune in. He could have added a different emotional element to the group, perhaps hitting a bit of a rebellious phase on the journey and learning to essentially "grow up" and become the man he wants to become with Jack there as a role model.
What do you guys think? Do you think Skaara could have been good to add to SG-1 in the beginning or do you think it's better the way they did it or something else?
