Who do you think best fits the part of an Air Force Colonel - Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson?

I'm not asking who you like better in the role, but based upon everything, appearance, attitude, personality, etc... who do you think fits the part of an Air Force Colonel the best?

That's hard to answer. I mean, they both did really good and I love both actors.

However, I happen to like KR better for the "movie" and think RDA has done an incredible job on the show. I'm not sure those two roles are interchangable. Therefore, I'm really unable to determine who I think fits the roll better.

Did that make "any" sense?

Although, how cool would it have been if KR made a cameo on the show while RDA was still there?

But my question is specifically asking who seems to fit the role of an "Air Force Colonel" the best? I'm not asking who you like better or who you think acted better. If you were really in the Air Force and under the command of a Colonel, who seems the most realistic to you to have that title and position - KR's character or RDA's character?

Well, then I would have to go with KR. Not sure why, just felt like he was a little more put together as far as the military is concerned.

Not that I don't think RDA would make a great Air Force Col.

I think KR fits more like a military man. To be honest as much as I like to watch RDA that stuff would not fly in the real Military.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think Kurt as well. I think some of it has to do with attitude and respect. Kurt shows it to authority whereas Rick came close many times to being beligerant to authority above himself even. Kurt was serious, Rick's just silly. I think a lot of it also has to do with Kurt's commanding presence, something Rick doesn't have as much of. Rick has presence, but it's usually associated with humor. Kurt's presence means business. You always salute Jack if you're in the Air Force and you come up to him, Sam never did beyond the first episode. I felt people had more respect for Kurt's character than Rick's. I think Kurt also has more of that machoness that one would relate to a command military figure. If I was under Colonel O'Neill's command, I would never dare to cross Kurt in the role but might for Rick.

I think Kurt looking younger and stronger also makes him look more the part.

Overall, Kurt's more what I picture for a man in that position, I don't picture Rick as well. Rick felt more like MacGyver carrying a gun and without the skills like Sam has.

As an Air Force Colonel, Kurt Russell was more intimidating.
