I watch the movie again the other night and thought I picked up on some RDA sarcasm that is so prevalant in the series.
It came when he was smoking a cigaret and Skara came over and was intrigued with the lighter Jack gave him the lighter and then Skara took a smoke from Jack. Jack just watch Skara and then took a big puff on purpose watching Skara do the same. Skara chokes and then Jack puts his out and says something a long the line of "This will kill us".
I could just have imagined RDA pulling that scene off.

Well RDA is a king when it comes to sarcasm. I could see him doing the scene as well. I believe when he put out the cigarette he said, "Yeah, pretty stupid."
Now, could you see RDA doing the scene where he tries to ask the kids if they've seen Daniel when he went through the whole ordeal of long hair, wears the jacket, sneezes... I have a hard time seeing RDA doing that.

Yea, I agree with you. But it was nice to see there was a bit of humor with Jack before the series.

A rather dark humor though. I could see Richard Dean Anderson doing that scene, but I have a hard time imagining his version of Jack finding humor in a boy trying a cigarette and just sitting there letting the boy try without at least trying to warn him. I don't know if RDA's Jack has ever really shown a dark side to his sense of humor.

Now you got me thinking, I'm trying to think of a episode that showed a darker humor side. I thought there was one or two where Daniel got in trouble and RDA had a sinister laugh before helping Daniel.

If you can think of one let me know because I was drawing a blank last night when I tried to think of one.
RDA has shown Jack does still have a dark side to him, one that you don't want to mess with, I'm thinking for example in the episode, "The Other Side," where he and Daniel sharply disputed giving heavy water which could change the fate or a war they knew nothing about just to gain technology. Jack got very dark in that episode but I never really saw him show a dark sense of humor. It seems to me that whenever Daniel was in trouble Jack immediately moved to help him
