Do you think Atlantis will ever be able to reconnect their Stargate to Earth?

See, this is a hard one for me to answer... I mean, they could meet up with Earth again, and I think they will, it's just a matter of when. I think if they meet up with Earth when SG-1 ends, that would be interesting, but I think it might take away from some of the drama/problems/etc. of being cut off from home... I definitely think they will meet up with Earth by the end of the show, though.

I think they'll meet up again with Earth, but not until SG-1 is over. I imagine SG-1 ending with the team leaving the Stargate program, leaving earth to live out their life somewhere else in peace or doing something, but not on earth because I think there are too many bad guys who'd be spying on them if they stayed on earth and might try to abduct them.
So I imagine that when Atlantis finally is able to dial home, SG-1 will no longer be manned by the four we love. And essentially it will allow us to follow the story of what's going on there after SG-1 is over. And I would imagine that they're going to need reinforcements if they are ever to defeat the Wraith. I just don't think there are enough people to combat them right now and they haven't come across anyone I think of the same or better technology.

My thoughts are far fetched, but I was thinking they will be able to dial home, but no one would be there.
Hmmm....great story line.

I could see that being something along the lines where that alien planet had them believe they went home when they really didn't. I couldn't imagine that happening just because it would be too depressing.
BTW, concerning that episode where they became unconscious on that world and believed that they got back home. Hammond was there and told them they would not be going back to Atlantis. Here's a question, since the whole scenario wasn't real anyway and those aliens intended to keep the humans in that dream state indefinitely, why couldn't they allow them in that dream state be able to go back and forth because clearly it was not harming them as long as they were dreaming it and the aliens could have possibly kept them in that state longer if the humans were feeling satisfied.

That's a good question. Not sure why. Only know that I'm convinced they stole that from SG1. Forget the name of the episode.

You mean that episode where they came to this paradise looking world and found these funky machines that suddenly sprout things out and pulled them in and linked them into some collective computer mind where Jack and Daniel had to relive one of their worst memories?
Do the two shows have the same writers?

That would be interesting. I'll have to check it out. But, I found that TNG often borrowed episodes from the original Star Trek as well.

No. They had different writers. Although, the writers who did the Atlantis episode, are regular writers for SG1 as well. It's just that they happen to not have written the SG1 episode.

I believe they will have to or they will have to defeat the wraith as it would otherwise last forever.:whoa
