Title: Pain
Directed by: Will Waring
Written by: Carl Binder
Original Air Date U.S.: May 14, 2010 (Syfy)
Original Air Date Canada: May 14, 2010 (SPACE)

Synopsis: When the crew suffers from vivid hallucinations that tap into their personal fears, Tamara Johansen isolates the affected from the rest and then tries to seek out the cause of the affliction as it spreads and becomes life-threatening.

Addition:
Vanessa James is having sex with Matthew Scott. Once they finish, he tries to leave, claiming that they can't be doing this. She blocks him, demanding that he choose between her and Chloe Armstrong. They get into a struggle, and in a moment of anger she strikes him with a lamp on the head, killing him. She is shocked at what she has done.
Dale Volker gets ready for work, but the door to his quarters won't open. He radios for help, but receives no response. As he pounds on the door, he is met by Hunter Riley. He explains that his door isn't working, but Riley opens the door from both sides to test it, seeing no problem. Ronald Greer sees Camile Wray working on a console in the gate room alone. He asks her what she's doing, and she explains that she's updating personnel files. She claims both Nicholas Rush and Everett Young know of her activities, and he promises to check with them. Eli comes in, asking where Matthew Scott is; Greer doesn't know.
James is still in her room, in shock. Young calls in asking why she's late to her shift. She claims that she just lost track of time and will be there shortly, but doesn't move. In a hallway, Volker unexpectedly comes across a dead end. When he turns around, he finds another wall, boxing him in. He begins to panic, but is snapped out of it by Scott, who is clearly unharmed. Scott recommends that Volker get some rest. As Volker leaves, Scott sees his son run down a corridor and gives chase. Young and Rush speak with Wray about a report from Greer on her earlier actions with the console. All three have no idea what he's talking about. In the mess hall, Darren Becker talks to a group of military personnel about how Young called off the search for Jeremy Franklin. Dunning is not surprised, since Franklin just vanished. His group gets up to leave, but Dunning pauses, scratching at his arm as if something is there. The others snap him out of it.

Talk about being really bugged and ticked off!!! You get to see the inner thoughts and fears of the crew. Has anyone got a supply of sedatives in their pocket?

I enjoyed the episode but I thought it could have been a lot darker. I thought that it should have gone to the seriously bad, overall the crew as a whole maintained control of the ship. It all should have gone to the Greer side of things.

Ok, this might seem a little controversial, but I did not like the whole sex stuff in this show. As with the previous incarnations of Atlantis and SG-1 it was always referenced, but not shown. I like that idea instead of in your face cr*p.

I am very, very disappointed with this show. I is a BIG let down for the Stargate genre. Such a shame.

^I agree about the sex scenes, I could do without them. This is totally different from SG1 or SGA but I'm still watching, I like the show just not the way they portray some things.

I am not going to say that I like the sex but I don't think they should get rid of it. I think it is part of the gritty reality of that kind of situation.

You know, someone once said something like that to me on this very forum to explain why they wrote 'adult' fanfiction even though that fanfiction dealt with things the show didn't deal with - either super violence or explicit sex or whatever. My response is the same now, I realize that those kind of things happen in real life and you can assume happen 'behind the scenes' in SG1 and SGA but that really doesn't matter to me because it's not what the show should focus on, in my opinion. Not everything has to be blatant, and I prefer shows that aren't 'hyper-realistic'. But that's just my opinion, to each their own. :)

Agreed Wraith. Like I said 'in your face' where the other shows hinted at it, but did not make it part of the show.
Like Rodney referring to John Sheppard as the Captain Kirk of Pegasus Galaxy. It's implied but not shown. Let the imagination do the piecing together.

Sheldon's bazinga's on The Big Bang Theory are implied. These are just sex scenes. They've being handled quite well, too. Otherwise they'd have been cut long before we ever got to see them.
