Okay, so I'm watching the reruns tonight. It was the episode with the Geni (sp??). Anyhow, I was paying attention for the country flags on their jackets. Then I got to noticing just how much like Star Trek and TNG they are like. The color coding according to which team they are on and so forth. However, I kind of like that. Kind of a dedication to the origins of space shows (sort of).

Anyhow, so now I ask what color codes are which? At first I thought I had it figured out, but now I'm a little confused.

I think science/medical are blue. At first I thought Maj Sheppard and Lt. Ford fell under the command team which I thought Dr. Weir was a part of. But, I noticed Dr. Weir and Teyla both had red in their jackets, but Maj Sheppard and Lt. Ford had black in their jackets.

Anyone know the difference?

Maybe black means military. Red means leadership positions (Teyla is a leader among her people), gold means science positions (isn't McKay's color gold), and blue would mean medical (I don't remember noticing blue).

Personally, I prefer military clothes like in SG-1.

I don't know about the other episodes, I'd really have to pay attention, but while Dr. McKay (scientist) was sitting at the Geni table, he clearly had a beige jacket with blue in it.

I'm probably thinking the color of his jacket being gold/beige, not that mesh stuff. So it's probably blue. Those jackets make me think, as I've mentioned, of Marty McFly's jacket in the future in Back to the Future 2.
