What do you think why they but heads so much?
Where do you think Col. Young is headed?

I think that Young has issues with trust and insecurity and Rush has problems with authority and opening up. Insecurity is mixed from Young with the authority issues and hyper intelligence from Rush just breed angst, complete angst.

The only saving grace is that they have started to bond over the pact for the 'good of the crew'.

or is Rush knew that the Col. would throw him out of a airlock? Oh yes their issues are deep seeded.

Two dominant males will always fight, no matter the species. Even if the ultimate goals are the same, they will try to lead on thier own paths. Rush is a loner intellectual who answered to no one. Young is a military leader with rules and structure he has to adhere to and because of that structure, it is his basis for decisions. Young will have to soften the military outlook with civilian people. Rush has to get over himself and consider the little things in life, like people.

I think Young's biggest issue is that he didn't want command anyway, he turned down command. He does have to soften in some ways and see himself as a governor rather than a Lt. Colnel. He has to mix the military and civilian and know when it is appropriate. Best thing would be to get Rush and the NID woman as extensions of his own authority, might have to give a little but all three need to be a stable rock of leadership.

Of course there is far more dramatic clash to be had if that never happens.
