SGU Looking for New Baddie
Producers of "Stargate Universe" are looking for someone to play Simeon, "a dangerous Lucian Alliance solider". The character will appear in 6-7 episodes and come into confrontation with Robert Carlyle’s character, Rush. Here are more details courtesy SpoilerTV:

He was a seasoned criminal before being recruited by the Alliance. He’s strong and intimidating but more crafty and wiry than big and muscular. Scary in that you’re never sure what he will do. He also holds secrets that are desperately sought after by Earth and those on board Destiny — secrets he would die or worse, kill to protect. He’s an antagonist for several episodes before he finally comes into serious conflict with Robert Carlyle’s character Rush and they are forced to face off.

how exactly would he go head to head with rush, though? i can think of only two explanations.

1. he transported down to the icarus base during the space fight. an interstellar stowaway, if you will. as such, he's been hiding out on board the destiny all this time. maybe in plain sight, maybe in the shadows - and could be the reason for some of those dodgy creeping camera shots - they might not be solely from eli's kino exploits. and if this lucian has a fight with rush, that's a very good indicator that rush somehow gets back on board destiny. wonder how angry he'll be?
2. he's infiltrated the sgc staff, or homeworld security, and manages to gain access to the sgc's communication stones. maybe the fight with rush happens remotely. again though, this strongly suggests rush gets back on board destiny.

the 2nd half of this season is shaping up to be interesting now. maybe the writers will put out a decent storyline.

It has been one big yawn fest. Hopefully adding a new character will improve things.

sg1 and sga had an enemy pretty immediately. i think they've tried to settle us into a new style of sg before breaking in a new enemy. i guess the ratings will prove it's success or failure.

in the meantime, are any of you fine folks playing stargate resistance? pretty good so far!

In the season two episode "Malice," there's a big face-off between Simeon (Robert Knepper) and Rush, which gets super intense. And Lt. James gets to do a big stunt, says actor Julia Benson. And Lt. James' jealousy over Lt. Scott's relationship with Chloe continues to be an issue in season two, by the sound of things. [Gateworld]

This guy Simeon had better be cool...none of the other 'villains' have been, in my humble opinion. I really don't care about Lt. James jealous, I wish we could let that go. Oh, well. Any thoughts on what Season 2 will bring?
