I'm wondering if the storm caused so many problems for Atlantis, why hasn't Tayla been more worried about her people who were left on the large land mass. I mean, wasn't this storm suppose to be "HUGE". But, not to my knowledge do I remember them talking about Tayla's people at all.
Did anyone go check on them?

Tayla got trapped on land with Dr. Beckett and I don't know who else because they couldn't take off for Atlantis in the storm. I'm pretty sure they mentioned her people, but I don't remember what now.

The group that is now stranded on the land mass went to rescue Teyla's people. They got them all out but a couple kids who were hunting or something. They waited for them, and got stuck by the weather. Teyla was very concerned for her people!

Why couldn't they just stay in Atlantis?

Why couldn't who stay in Atlantis?
Teyla's people almost revolted in a previous episode where the folks from Earth thought Teyla was telling the Wraith where they were going. Teyla's people went to the mainland as a compromise, to get away from those suspicious Earthers, and to start living the agrarian life they were used to. But Teyla still worked with the Atlantis folks, and when the storm was coming, she had to go check on the safety of her people. So Teyla's people had been living on the mainland for a while, and the Atlantis folk felt compelled to try to save them from the storm.

No, I was asking why the Earth people couldn't stay in Atlantis. I missed the beginning of that particular episode and only caught the ending, so I was confused as to why they couldn't stay in Atlantis during the storm.

evacuated because a hurricane the size of Texas was heading straight for them. Luckily, or there would have been a lot more people there when the Geni invaded.
