Why did Sumner kiss Weir?

In the series premiere, I don't remember Col. Marshall Sumner and Dr. Elizabeth Weir sharing a kiss. Yet I've seen the picture of them doing so in front of the Stargate, him in his military clothes, her with a huge pack on her back. It looks like it happened right after they came through the Stargate to Atlantis.

So why did they kiss?

Nevermind, I found it. Not sure. I really do not remember that. But I don't remember quite a few of those photos. May have been a while or could have been outtakes or scenes they opted not to use in the show.

I totally agree. That just doesn't seem like his personality. It also doesn't seem like hers either.
