Stargate Fan Awards open for voting

Finally, the SFA's are open for voting. I happen to know that a couple of people here in the forum have fan fiction or artwork in the competition, so hurry on over and check out this incredible smörgåsbord of fan contributions!

Voting is only open until July 31st...and there is a LOT to see, hear and read...so run, don't walk to the SFA's!!!

One of mine's been taken down already. Turns out (completely unknown to me) that my source was itself a fan-made piece of art. Apparently, it infringes on her work. Even though hers was cut out from the show and significantly edited. As was mine of hers.

Aww that sucks Brym! Some people are picky about stuff like that, but it's really stupid when they wouldn't make any money with it anyways. Sorry Brym! :( Hmm...you know, it's probably my imagination, but sig Sheppard looks pretty bummed about it...you know, your sig always makes me think you look like Sheppard. Okay, that's totally off topic. Sorry guys.

Wraithicator, there IS a lot to go through, and this year is actually less than there has been in the past (bit of a story as to why that happened!) Anyway, enjoy!

My personal complaint is that I'm going to have company (inlaws) for about 10 days, which significantly cuts into my 'reading' time! Grrr!! How will I EVER get through all of it????? Personallly, I think we need longer than just a month to make up our minds what our favorites are.

Oh, Robin, in-laws are overrated. Stargate's way more important! Just kidding :) hope they aren't wierd in-laws for your sake! :D And you make an excellent point about ownership, copyright doesn't (shouldn't?) apply when the first person took it from somewhere else!
Oh, Robin, is any of your stuff up there? Just curious. EDIT: nevermind, I just noticed some of your stuff. :)

LOL! I'm blessed, my inlaws are very understanding...in fact, MIL needs her 'my time' as well...she grabs her puzzlebooks and that's the signal that I can do whatever I want for awhile! FIL...just give him a book and a cup of coffee and he's good for the day!

All three of the TCO authors are represented...have to admit to being rather suprised that there isn't a separate Cam category...Lisa's work is in "SG-1-fan fiction-Other/Other", oddly enough.

Will take the opportunity here to say thank you to those who nominated us!

As for the 'copyright' thing...given that everything done by fans is based on copyrighted material, and MGM/Gekko/Sci-fi et al allow fans to use the characters/images for their personal work, I'm thinking this 'artist' is making a tempest in teapot. But that's just my opinion.
