SG Universe Richard sent a message mentioning his involvement in the upcoming SG-1 movie and the new MGM series, Stargate Universe, scheduled to premiere on the SciFi channel this fall. MGM requested that his message not be posted until the information was released by the studio, so now that the studio has publicized Richard's upcoming appearances, his note from March 2nd can be posted:

I would have thought word had gotten out by now, but as I am informed, so shall ye be: the movie has been green lit. There are so few details beyond the 'go ahead', but I sat next to Charlie Cohen and across from Brad Wright at dinner two weeks ago (the cast dinner for the launch of Stargate Universe), and just an hour prior to sitting down to mediocre cuisine, Charlie had announced MGM's intention to make the next Stargate movie. As I am led to believe, shooting may start this summer, most likely.

I was up there doing a snippet of a scene with Robert Carlyle and I'll be going back March 17 for another scene in part 2 of the two-hour. I had told Brad that if he wanted help in the launch of Universe I'd love to be a part of it. (Truth be known, I missed those guys 'n gals.) So I'll make a few slim appearances in the first half-dozen episodes, or so. Again, details are sketchy, but I've already shot the first of my scenes so the ball is rolling. Andy Mikita is directing the two-hour, so we had a good hug and huge laugh.

Anyway, there you go.

welcome back jack!!! even if it is briefly in only a few eps, this is great news. another sg1 movie (i didn't know if that was confirmed before or not), cameos in the first two eps, AND a desire to appear in more! hey mikey, i think he likes it!.

WOOT! New SG-1 movie is ago! Nice to see RDA making a return.. I hope his role is bigger than it was in Continumm. I'm gonna miss Hammond though. :(

i'd heard somewhere that it might even be a jack-centric movie. lot of character back-story and development.

Of course there are the ones who prefer a man of distinctive character , eloquence rugged looks and a snide sense of humour, for all those who think they are in authority. :cool: Ya, A guy like Jack .Makes a girl's heart flutter in anticipation. Young fine looking fellows on the shows are Ok for some but gimme Jack type anytime. :blush:

Funny Coincidence: Just as I logged in, the girl sitting next to me said "Stargate? You like Stargate?" To which I reply: "Yeah..." And she says: "I haven't watched it since 'the old guy' left. I like the old guy." "Yeah...me too."
I love O'Neill...sure, I love Daniel and Teal'c and Carter (duh) too, and I like Cam and Vala...but it's just not the same without Jack. So this new movie's gonna rock!

:woo: RDA !!!!! Hope the powers that be don't make him a sappy sod, before he becomes the guy we all know as the irrasible Jack O. I hope the character is true to form,even through the developement and story nessessities as love romance anger grief and all the usual Hollywood blah, blah blah. :j4;
