After watching season one, what feelings did you come away with that makes you think we'll see certain things explored in the future? This is not based upon anything you've read, just your feelings from what you've seen so far?

My strongest thought for something I think we'll see more of in the future is Shep's past. From what I can tell, his parents are both dead and he has no family whatsoever, which made him perfect for going on this mission since he's got no ties to earth. We know that he was born with an ancient gene in him. We know that when he met an Ancient, she indicated that there was more to him than he realized. I think he has a hugely interesting history that we will learn more about in the future.

If I were to make a guess, I would say that one or both of his parents were Ancients. If his parents were both ancients and they became human again, which we know they can from the SG-1 episode "Ascension," they could then have conceived and given birth to a child. Perhaps the other Ancients were angered by this and punished the parents and sent little Shep to earth where he would be none the wiser.

Perhaps only one parent was an Ancient who fell in love with someone on another planet, became human and together they had a child. Then perhaps fearing the others finding out, sent the human parent and baby Shep to earth to hide.

Oh I could think of so many possible ideas for Shep's history.

But I predict in the future, we will learn much more about his past.

I'm predicting someone in the main cast will be killed off.

Just a hunch!

Okay, which character do you hate? ;)

I'd like to see Weir either be replaced by the original actress who played her in SG-1's "Lost City" or get rid of her. I immediately liked the actress who played her in season 7 yet after an entire season of Atlantis, I still haven't warmed up to Higginson.

I think because Higginson's Weir comes across to me as being too bossy, too sharp, too distant, and not really showing a softer, caring side to her personality like Sam Carter did which balanced her commando attitude as a military officer and endeared her in the hearts of fans. Sam Carter is the kind of person I would love to have as a best friend and hang out with while Elizabeth Weir is someone I would avoid as much as possible.

They could get rid of Teyla. Teal'c never had to deal with that much resistance when he came to the SGC and he was carrying an enemy Goa'uld in his gut. Jack vouched for him and that was good for just about everyone else working in the SGC. At least he never heard much from anyone, but then he could squash anyone flat if he wanted. :p

After an entire season, Teyla is strongly having to deal with people rejecting her being there which I find to be really annoying to watch. Of course it didn't help for the writers to have her have this ability where a Wraith could take over her body like that. Up until that I had no problem trusting the character, now I even doubt her not that she would do anything willfully, but that a Wraith could possess her again.

They could get rid of Ford, they ruined him in the second half of the season. I thought he was great in the first half, I don't know why so many fans had a problem with him back then.

I like the others, though Shep has some wrinkles to iron out still I think. Rodney has improved 100% in the second half of the first season and I'm really liking his character now. I think it's great to show him progressing rather than try to overnight change his personality like some tv shows will do. And of course Carson is the most perfect character on the show. :p

I don't really hate any of them. It's just the way the set up the season finally and changed characters and minimalized certain character plots.

Could you go into more detail? I hadn't thought much about it.

Well, the change in character for Rainbow Francs character, plus the set up of him being surrounded by wraith at the end of the season.

The barely there character (with the exception of the last few episodes) of Dr. Beckett (I think that is his name).

Tey'la missing at the end of the episode (although I doubt they would get rid of her so soon).

I also wonder about Dr. Weir. I think the character can probably be written out, but I personally like the interaction (or sometimes arguments) between her and Shep. It gives them both someone to talk to about the situation they are in (on a personal level). But I think the audience finds it difficult to know her actual place. I mean, by her being civilian, leading a military mission. I think that's hard for non military (or people who just aren't privy to military information) people to understand that.
