Okay, I know we've talked in the past how not many of us thought John Sheppard (the name) fit very well with the character/look for Joe Flannigan.

So, how do you think they did with Elizabeth Weir, Rodney McKay, Carson Beckett and Teyla Emmagen (sp??)?

Oddly enough, even though I had to warm up to Teyla, I think the name fits her character pretty good. I do like Rodney and Carson for those characters. I'm still undecided about Weir because I've seen her played by another actress who looked totally different.

To me it is like naming your kids. I used to think it really doesn't matter, no matter what you name them, you just get used to it and they grow into it. I believe this is true for all the characters of Stargate series. The names all fit well because they have grown into them.

As for kids, that goes out the window when people start naming them Apple as Gweneth Paltro (sp) named her daughter.

I'd rather someone name their daughter Apple than to name their son Rainbow Sun. Well I hope I marry a guy with your attitude, that way he'll let me name the kids because I already have my favorites picked out. :)

A funny Story.

My wife wanted to name our son Caleb I did not really like that name, so we were looking at others such as Ethen or samual. We also had a few picked for a girl as were did not know the sex of our baby. However the big discussion was the boys name as my wife really wanted Caleb but I did not. As my wife went into labor we had not decided on the name if the baby was a boy. Well he was born and right then I told my wife we could name him Caleb. She was so happy, and I felt just terrible after watching her go thru what she just went thru that I thought it was the least I could do. And as it turned out I can not imagin my son named anything else.

The moral of the story, ask your husband to name a child right after the birth, you will probably get what you want.

I like the name Caleb, although it is a pretty common name nowadays. You could nickname him CB. :) I've also seen it spelled Kaleb.

We decided on c because that way we would both have the same initials cmb as we have the same middle name

OMG, that's exactly what happened with us. I wanted to name our baby Rocco. It was after a 16th century patron saint who traveled all over to pray for sick people. I thought it was appropriate as I spent 8 days in the hospital when I was 28 weeks pregnant.

Anyhow, the hubby was just like "no way, no how". Right in the middle of labor he said the same thing. I could name him whatever I wanted.

Well, all worked out because he was a she and we named her Ema Satine. We do have a son and his name is Johnny Isaiah.

Well there you go ask durring or right after labor and you will probably get the name you want, its for a guy to say no to anything at this point.
