Who invented the ring transporter - Ancients or Goa'uld? It bothered me to see the Ori in another galaxy using rings thinking that the Goa'uld invented them. But then there was a ring transporter down to the Ancient outpost in Antarctica and so that must have been built by the Ancients. So then I guess the Ori would have the technology too.

I thought the rings were developed by the ancients, but then that may have just been an asumption on my part.

Is it plausible that the Ancients created the gates and the Gou'ld figured out how the ring?

I watched the season 9 opener of Stargate SG1 and in the show Vala said and I quote
Quote:
We all know the Ancients invented the stargate and rings so it stands to reason there is a ring in the mountain

of course refering to the mountain in England where they believed Merlin had his treasure buried.

So from this I can be sure that the Ancients invented the rings. I mean Vala has not ever tried to fool someone.

Oh yea and there was a ring transporter in the mountain and Merlin was an Ancient so it seems that this time Vala may have been telling the truth.
