MacGruber Although the three "MacGruber" commercials for Pepsi that aired during Saturday Night Live the previous night were not originally intended for the Super Bowl, Pepsi made a last-minute decision to pull several of their other ads to make room for one of the "MacGruber" segments. The second of the three "MacGruber" spots, in which MacGruber announces that he has changed his name to "Pepsuber," aired during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. MacGruber A recurring skit on Saturday Night Live portrays "MacGruber," a hero who "makes life-saving inventions out of household materials" but always fails to defuse the bomb and gets blown up in each segment. Richard is a fan of the show, and he accepted an invitation to do three "MacGruber" skits that ran as ads for Pepsi during Saturday night's show.
