You can download and listen to the song HERE (http://webprod2.megashares.com/?d01=9de86aad0f1b9f55e6442a4022eeb0b8).

These are the lyrics...

Beyond the night, a rising sun
Beyond the night, the battle's won
The battle is won. Fear and shame now in the past
Pain and sorrow gone at last
Gone at last.

Circle renewed, peace will be found
Beyond the night on sacred ground.

River flows led by the wind
First new breath, our journey begins
Our journey begins.

I like that. I really did enjoy that part of the show. At first I thought it odd, but after seeing everything come together at the end, I felt it was appropriate if not just totally different than anything else we have seen so far.

Nice little change!

Oh yeah, I don't know if she sang it or not, but whoever it was has a beautiful voice.

She sang it. If you read her biographical information, her father taught her to sing since she was a child and she attended the Royal Canadian Conservatory. I really think the point of the song was to show off the actress's singing talent. It also made me think of Lord of the Rings when Pippin sang. They did, after all, mention Lord of the Rings earlier in the episode.

I agree with new fan. I liked the song, but at first found it a bit odd. But the more I thought about it, it was kind a cool.

I thought it was a great song but I think I would have used it a different episode and not about this woman dying - I'm not sure what her relationship to Teyla was exactly. But like in Lord of the Rings Pippin sang his song as the men of Gondor led by Faramir rode to their deaths. I would have used her song in something more meaningful to the audience that the death of a woman I don't think we've really seen before and really doesn't mean anything to us as an audience. I mean, it seemed way to extravogent to have such a beautiful song for a character we barely know when Jacob and Frasier never got such a beautiful send off.

She was the lady who raised Teyla. She is in a few episodes in season 1 but rather small parts.
