Uh oh....
I remember us talking awhile back (first season I think) about the food issue. I remember mentioning why not just fish out of the ocean (if you could picture that). I think a few people said there may not be much. I recall not seeing much when the city was under water.
HOWEVER.....
I was thinking about the last episode. If that huge whale is swimming around (even if it wasn't local) there has got to be tons of smaller fish they could potentially have as a food source.
I'm not sure it was ever mentioned (since I have missed a few episodes), but the one episode I recall they just talked about farming the mainland. Oh and Rodney complained about not enough coffee.
I know things are a little different since they have access to Earth (sort of), but how long can they keep going back and forth.
Thoughts?

You would think that the Atlantians had a way of growing food there in Atlantis. I would bet if they had the station to full operation they might find greenhouses and stuff where food can be grown. You would think that among the crew they took in the series premiere, they would have had a chef. Considering they thought they might never be able to return, they couldn't have possibly brought a lifetime supply of rations for everyone. And who would want to live on rations for the rest of their life?
It does however create a nice symbiotic (if that's the right word) relationship with the Athosians living on the mainland. They grow food and supply Atlantis with food and Atlantis supplies them with whatever supplies they might need. I really like that setup because I do so like Teyla's people. I really want to see that tall guy return to the show, I really liked him. The one who had a young son named Jinto. I think he and his son added to the show.

That would actually have been a cool scene for Jack Oneill. Him sitting on one of the piers of Atlantis drinking a beer and fishing.

Oh, I didn't even think about that.
That would totally fit him perfectly.

Ah, I can just see it. SG-1 comes to Atlantis. Jack takes over for Weir, his bride Sam along with him who take up leadership over all the scientists so she gets to be McKay's boss. Daniel is the chief archeologist. Teal'c is there to help fight the Wraith and is a leader as well.
Of course Weir remains in a leadership position directly below Jack and her focus is on making sure non-military personnel are not overshadowed by the military. John still commands the frontline unit team but Daniel's on it now - seeing as how they don't have an archealogist so he wouldn't be putting anyone out of a job. Sam stays in Atlantis mostly which allows McKay to be on the frontline team. Teyla of course stays because of her knowledge of the galaxy but Teal'c can take over for Ronan or work alongside him.

Now that's a show. Do you think that could be a good plot for Stargate II ? I mean SG1 going to atlantis for the final battle against the Wraith?

That would be cool to bring SG-1 to Atlantis for the series finale to end it all. Though my idea was more long term - SG-1 taking over Atlantis but I doubt they would do that.
