Just asking what you think.

My origanol two were either

1. They use the star drive to book it away from the wraith

or

2. They fight the wraith.

Due to the preiveiw for the newest episode, Im second guessing myself. Now I think-

A wraith queen will come and want the retro virus, just as the preveiw said. However, while these may be somthing of allied to the Humans, I beleive the other hive ships will be jealous.

This queen wants to use it as a weapon, kill the other wraith, then maybe the humans next. So many mouths to feed, why not lower that count without even losing unloyal ships?

Thus, as the preveiw also said, the other hive ships will attack the humans. THEN comes my next theory

If this happens, then in season 3, a BIG war will break out. The wraith are already attacking eatchother because of shepard. So then, my theory for that season is as follows

Ford will come back. Somehow someway, superford will get the retro virus and be turned back. Or he will just stop having the glands. Im not sure if the retro would even work

A new race will be discovered. There was this season 1 episdoe, a big contagion broke out on atlantis. They found it was nanobots. It was not wraith, it was not ancient. Or they just trashed that all together.

A big war between Wraith, Wraith, and Humans will break out. Atlantis will have to star drive out at one point. Dedalus might get blown up, that or the Orion.

Thats a mouthful. Got a theory yourself?

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Book what away from the Wraith? And what star drive?

I think the Wraith will come and ask for the retrovirus, since it's only one ship probably to use on other Wraith to establish dominance. If you can destroy other Wraith more quickly that will leave more food for you. I would hope that Atlantis crew would see this but they don't seem to be the brightest apples. If they do understand this it would then be up to them to decide whether they want to give it to these Wraith which would then allow them to do most of their dirty work in destroying much of the Wraith so that there are fewer for them to fight or to keep it because the Wraith can not be trusted. Giving them the retrovirus could end up being a horrible mistake. It goes back to the basic idea that's been discussed before on the board, you don't give one enemy a weapon to destroy another enemy because then that enemy you helped could then turn what you gave them against you.

So I would hope that Weir refuses to give them any but I don't know.

I'm not so sure the preview for next week is so cut and dry. I've never had the impression that the individual hive ships would turn against each other. Why? I mean, I'm sure it could happen, but I would think they'd want to stay together as they are mostly a race that wants to conquer everything they come into contact with.

Why bother with the retro virus when we already know the Wraith can feed off each other? I would think it would be easier to just do it that way if there is truly a rift within the Wraith ranks.

It will be interesting to see how next weeks episode turns out.

In what episode did we see a Wraith feed off another Wraith? I don't recall it.

It was proven a few episodes back though that the Wraith very much want dominance and seem to be at the brink of a civil war. It was the episode where Ford, Teyla, Shep, and Ronan I believe were all prisoners on the hive ship, as they fled, I believe Shep was in the Wraith dart and began firing at the other shep which ended with the Wraith fighting each other and left the humans alone.

So I think it's the opposite of what you said because of what we saw in that episode. Clearly their is great conflict between Wraiths, so great in fact that they will ignore humans to fight each other.

I doubt we'll be seeing the star drive anytime soon. It would just take too much power, and they've only got the one ZPM right now. Still, I'm sure that we will eventually get to see it, or at least I hope so. It will definitely be cool.

I think someone asked what the Star Drive is. Basically, Atlantis is not just a city but also a ship capable of travelling bewteen galaxies. In the opening moments of the Altantis premier, Rising we saw a clip of Atlantis taking of from Antarctica on Earth 'several million years ago.' If you recall, in the season 1 finale while McKay was working on the satellite, Zelenka was on Atlantis. There was a scene where he told Weir that "it's not enough" in reference to the city's self-destruct. I believe he said, "If the Wraith are even the least bit resourceful, which I must assume that they are, they will easily be able to reverse-engineer [the star drive] from the wreckage."

As for the end of this season:

It seems clear that some Wraith show up who want the retrovirus. I'm not entirely sure about what the right decision would be. If you give it to them, then there's going to be less Wraith around. But at the same time, the Wraith might be even more of a threat if they are all unified, which it seems clear they are not. Also (and this is something they debated in Michael) if a Wraith gets turned into a human, is he then human? If so, they're basically trading their own lives for those of the Wraith who will get turned into humans by the retrovirus and then fed upon.

Also, I believe it was mentioned at one point that the Wraith can feed off of eachother, but that it's better somehow for them to feed off of us. More nurishing, or something like that.

It makes perfect sense to me that the Wraith would turn on eachother. They're bad guys. Bad guys can't be trusted. Also, I doubt very much that they feel they have any need to "stick together." It's not as though their is any real threat to their dominance of the Pegasus Galaxy. After all, even when Atlantis was full of Ancients, and there were (at least a couple) Aurora-class ships flying around, and a few more of those La Grange Point Satellites, the Wraith still managed to come out on top. What's the big deal if a few hundred humans are hanging out in Atlantis?

Why can't anyone build ZPM's? Why haven't they been backward engineered yet? Surely the Asgard have that kind of knowledge and capability to where they could build enough ZPM's to send to Atlantis.

Oh thanks, I forgot about that episode.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't they say the Wraith fed off each other in the episode where they found the crashed Wraith ship with the one Wraith left (which Ford blew up)?

The episode was called The Defiant One (http://www.gateworld.net/atlantis/s1/112.shtml). In the analysis at the link provided it actually says the Wraith can feed on each other.

Look at it this way. if one wraith can feed on another, cant the other do the same? Even kill he wraith attacking him?

However, if they were just a bunch of defensless humans without the ability to feed, then they would feed on them without a problem. More nurishing too.

The ancients lost becase they were spread out, unprepared, and took the threat lightley. By the time they realized that they were not gods, and they had to take it seriously, atlantis was already under seige.

However, the humans are awar. The humans have a LOT of ancient technology. and the Humans are, as shown in 9 seasons of SG-1, recoursful and cunning as ever.

The wraith are still barbaric., with only a queen to contol the massive heards of people to feed, and not enough cattle. I wont be suprised if a civil war break out.
