Stargate SG-1 The Ultimate Visual Guide
Written by Kathleen Ritter
Forward by Richard Dean Anderson
Summary by Robin K.
This book does a wonderful job of 'condensing' ten seasons of Stargate SG-1 into a comprehensive guide that all Stargate fans can enjoy.
Broken into 'sections', the book lists actual data about the Stargate, the SGC, the main characters of the show, the technology, and then the missions.
The first section "Stargate SG-1" gives full details about the Stargate itself, and the DHD, as well as full bios for the 'original' SG-1 team: Colonel/Brig. General Jack O'Neill, Captain/Major/Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter, Dr. Daniel Jackson, and Teal'c; along with General Hammond and Dr. Janet Fraiser. This information includes full rank, commendations and medals earned, along with 'close up' views of the ribbons worn by the military members. Birthdays and other personal information that is available on the characters is also included.
The second section is "Stargate Command", and features an in-depth look at the SGC itself. There is a layout for levels 27 and 28 that is quite interesting. A chart lists each level, its use, and the needed security clearance to access those levels.
Information about other SGC personnel and SG teams is also available in this section. Uniforms, insignias, and weapons are listed and explained. The MALP actually has two pages that explain its use, and its capabilities. The Prometheus is also described in detail.
Rounding out this section are pages on Alien Technology, government and military characters who are semi-regulars of the show, as well as explanations of the NID, The Trust, and the Russians.
The remainder of the book is given to each 'mission', with an explanation, special events that took place, as well as the characters involved. The index that follows makes finding any given subject quick and easy.
Filled with screencaps from the show, and accompanied by a CD that offers more insight into the show, this book is aptly titled. It IS the Ultimate Visual Guide to Stargate SG-1.
This should be the first book a Stargate fan puts in their Stargate library.
