Just what the topic says, I havnt heard of any and I wonder why?
I mean we know you can ascend with help of an ascended being or by being a good guy or when your brain have evolved enough.
And I mean Asgards are pretty friendly, And I am sure some Ancient would help them they were after all Allies. And the brain part I mean for a human you would need to use 90% of the brain to ascend. An Asgard probably uses that daily.
What do you think?

I think it's a very good question! I had never thought about it...I think belief in ascension is a necessity, and it's possible that the Asgard simply don't 'believe' in an afterlife, or ascension. That alone would prevent them from making the transition.

But I mean they have showed that when your brain rvolved you could do it without any problem, even rodney was able to ascend and he dosnt hit me as a religous type of guy. And I have another of topic question. When Anubis Ascended did his host do it too? otherwise wouldnt he apear as a worm in the Ancient "Cafe"?

If you listen carefully during Meridian, there has to be belief...which has nothing to do with religion...or even spirituality. IF a person, or being, wants to ascend, then it is possible. BUT, there is 'faith' involved in the process. The Asgard are a very scientific and logical people. Accepting something like ascension might not be as readily done.
Personally, I believe it was the host that actually ascended, that's how Anubis tricked Oma. Somehow he was able to 'hide' from her so completely that she didn't realize a Goa'uld was involved.

I find it strange since I see the ancients as devouted to technology as the asgards were. Or that not even one of them wanted to.
And How Anubis could fool Oma, I dont get it she must see that there are two Minds in that body. And If they both ascended Anubis wouldnt need to be in the host anymore?

If you'll remember, he didn't have a host for some time...he was that 'black cloud'. When he did take a host, in order to 'function' on the mortal level, he literally burned them up...because of his ascended status.
As for fooling Oma...Anubis at that time was one of the, if not the most powerful Goa'uld, and they do have the ability to disguise themselves when it suits them. (And for all I know, it's a simple 'canon glitch'.)
The Ascended don't 'need' technology. The Ancients were the ones with the impressive technology. Who then became Ascended.
And, just to point out...it's a show. The writers probably didn't sit and think and wonder about these particular points. I suppose the issue could be debated in a dozen different ways, indefinitely.
It IS an interesting topic, but one that will NEVER have a definite answer.

Well, Anubis is locked in eternal battle with Oma...so he's not gong to be around causing trouble for anyone! (And yes, he could take hosts...he had several of them before Oma took him on in battle.)
As for the Ascended Asgard...if any of them were able to do so, it would be Thor.

Anubis was only part-ascended. Welcome to the forums, folke123

True, which might have been because he was Goa'uld. However, even though he was actually 'stuck' between the planes of existence, he had enough 'power' (or strength, if you'd rather) to move to the mortal plane and put all of his plans into motion. He was taking hosts, although the bodies didn't survive for long.

Although all the Asgard knowledge was stored in the Asgard Core, I'd still like to think that Thor and his buddies made like Lanteans and ascended. Kinda wraps up their end nicely.

It is a nice thought, isn't it? Maybe they were the first Asgard to Ascend?

Don't suppose there's discounts on bulk ascension?

He could take hosts yes, but not in the same way right? Before he himself as a worm jumped and took controll over the body. Now he was more that dark energy/cloud who took over the bodies until they died.
EDIT: I mean after he had partly ascended he was no "worm" anymore he was that cloud thingy. and could only take a host for sometime.
