Creating a new character

I was thinking up a new SGA character, maybe for use in my fanfic, but I got really interested in this guy so I started writing a detailed background complete with illustrations.
Before joining the Atlantis expedition my guy was a RNLMC Scout/sniper.
I wanted a pic of him and his spotter in Afghanistan, so I took two images of British and American snipers and modified them:

That's what I wanted to do when I got in the Army, but they wouldn't let me. It was my "very first" choice. I see from the American patch he is serving with a calvary unit.

Which one? The triangle or the circle?

The roundish....one......It is the 1st Calvary Division patch. They also have an Air Calvary Division as well.

I can't quite make out the triangle patch. I'll have to do some research. There are several divisions who use a triangle for their patch. There is one triangle patch known as "The Seven Steps to Hell".

Alright, cool (then I'll alter the round one for my character, as I'm trying to get rid off all US Army markers).

The triangle originally looked like this:

Ah, Old Ironside.

That is the 1st Armored Division. Tankers....my second choice they told me I couldn't do. Stupid rules.....LOL!

They are sort of spread out all over Germany/Europe. Most likely because they have a rather large Stryker units.
