Does anyone know anything about "the travelers"?
I was reading some stuff about Ronan and it said he "may" have gotten his gun from the "travelers".
For the life of me I cannot recall him talking about them.

I do not think they have explained that yet.

You dont know them? Has any of you seen the ep "Travelers" (s04e05), or "Be All My Sins Remember'd" (s04e11)? There's a hot woman with a big spaceship (and lot's of friends with big ships), those are the Travelers and they use the 'Ronon-gun'.

I have missed some epi's on occasion. I'll have to go back and look at those epi's. If these are season four epi's then no AC hasn't seen them either.
That is why I asked. In the past, due to school, I've missed several epi's during the season and they don't rerun them as much as they use to.
Okay, I just looked up Be All My Sins Remembered and I really liked that episode. I do not remember them mentioning the travelers at all. It was a replicator based episode. Hmmm.....
I did indeed miss The Travelers episode. I may have to check it out.

Be All My Sins Remember'd is part 2 of a 3-parter, the fleet that s gonna assaullt the replicator world also included some Traveler ships, Shep asked them to join in in part 1 or 3 (This Mortal Coil & The Spoils of War), I think.

That's different then addressing exactly who they are and Ronans gun issue. So, that was probably addressed in The Travelers.

Yeah, well I never said that that happened in BAMSR. In The Travelers, Shep get abducted by the hot Traveler chick and she has one of those Ronon guns aswell.
Let's (un)offically name it the 'Ronon-gun' :)

Well, you put it in your posting like it explained everything. Anyhow, I know what Travelers is about, but I haven't seen it. However, I did a little bit of reading and why the differences between Ronans weapon and hers (namely fire power.....power source issues).
Still makes me wonder exactly where he got it from if they (The Travellers) are always on a ship.

They were pretty similar....then again I don't know really, was paying more attention to the girl :p
What I do remember is that the Travelers version actually ran out of ammo, never seen that happen to Ronon, and he hasn't got any 'clips' with him.

I thought he had a "clip" (power pack maybe) in season two.

Yeah?? owh I missed that, could you remember the ep?
I always assumed it had some sort of (self)rechargeable power source, possibly compatible with Earth's naquadah generator.

I'll have to do some research as I don't own it on DVD. I believe he told Shepp (I think) that it was self charging, but if they are, why did the captain (of that ship) run out of juice (reading from discussion groups and transcripts here)?
Makes me wonder if they actually took them from another race/humans and aren't using them correctly.

I'll tell you in 40 min, about to watch the ep now.

Just watched it, at some point Shep has her gun and is about to go fight a Wraith, he takes out something that looks like a revolvers mag and then puts it back.

Whilst doing some research for my fanfic, I got distracted and ended up on this stargatewiki page:

And this should answer all your questions:

As far as I knew, Ronon takes out the power crystal in his gun to render it safe. I'll check my own sources but i'm pretty sure his never runs low.
