Level 20:

The level contains additional laboratories and the base's manufacturing services, which meet the needs of any specialised equipment required to support current study programs and missions. This includes producing support for off world operations as well.

Level 21:

This level is home to the infirmary. It consists of a medical bay that can accommodate up to eight patients and three operation/observation rooms. These rooms can also double as quarantine and isolation rooms in the event of a viral outbreak on the base. The Infirmary, ORs and Medical Labs all have state of the art facilities and equipment, including an MRI scanner. There are also gyms and physical therapy/rehabilitation facilities. The base's autopsy room is based on this level.

The SGC's Chief Medical Officer has her office on Level 21. Until her death on the mission to rescue SG-13 from Goa'uld ambush on P3X-666, Dr. Janet Fraiser was the base CMO.

I wonder just how much alien technology the med labs would actually use, if such had been proven effective. I mean, if it's available, why not use it, right?

I'm sure they are. But, outside of the hand device and sarcophogus, they didn't often speak of how aliens were healed and such.

Very true. Remember the serum/vaccination that was created to cure Teal'c in "Bane" (Season 2, episode 10)? I always wondered if that was tested to use against other viral diseases, such as cancers...which take over and 'transform' an organ/body.

I don't recall that one. I'll have to break it out. Have that season on DVD.
