The control chairs are responsible for defenses of the Ancients Outposts and cities. The main defense is a large supply of Ancient drone weapons. The chair can also activate holographic systems, allowing the user to project maps, and show sensors reading. It is designed to be powered by a ZPM, although the Atlantis expedition and Antarctic outpost have been successful in powering the device with a Naquadah Generator.

Well, I knew it could be controlled from that. I didn't know it was called a city ship.

I knew that...saw that on the season ender of Season three 0f Atlantis. Where Shep piloted the Atlantis aka city ship off world. From the chair. Seem pretty psyched about it. Piloting it from the Chair. Well, he said he could pilot almost anything. I have not seen him be wrong yet.
