I'd forgotten there was a remote.

Transporter rings--The Ring Transporter is a device used in the Milky Way for short-range transportation, for example, between proximate ships, between a ship and a nearby planet, or within a planet-side facility.
Ring remote--The transport rings may be activated by a wrist-worn device by a button on a ribbon device, by a control panel nearby, or by ship cockpit controls.

hmm..I like the beaming stuff better, but this is also pretty nice. Does the Daedalus have rings (I know the Prometheus has them)?

I'd have to double check, but I think Daedalus has beaming technology.

I'm 100% certain the Daedalus has beaming tech ;), just wondering if they have Rings aswell.

Daetalus has beaming tech only as far as I know.

I curious, if they had beaming tech, why would they need the rings?

The ring hand remote in the movie did not need Naquida in a persons body to work. The Jaffa in the movie did not have symbiots.
But in the TV show it does hold true that they need naquida in their blood. Odd isn't it?

I had read somewhere that the whole naquadah thing was a way to keep lowly humans from being able to so easily use the Goa'uld technology for the television show...otherwise there would have been too many "say what?" moments.

I agree with that one, Robin.
